Both heroes you control in Alan Wake 2 have access to an extended arsenal of firearms and throwables. On this page, you can find a list of all weapons appearing in the game along with information on where to find them and recommended picks for specific situations.

Flashlight

  2. Getting the Flare Gun is a story event and you cannot go forward without it. This happens during the course of Initiation 4 chapter.

Double-Barreled Shotgun

  2. You can find this weapon in the stage Initiation 4 and you can't miss it. However, you won't be able to keep it.
  3. The second opportunity is in Initation 5 and you can find the Double-Barrelled Shotgun in the bar next to the Oceanview Hotel. From this moment on, the double-barreled shotgun will be added to Alan's inventory permanently.
  4. You should use the shotgun to attack stronger opponents, because it deals a lot of damage at a short distance.

Hand Flare

  1. Hand Flare is an example of a throwable, but you can just as well hold it in your hand to light the way.
  2. Flares have two main uses - prevent monsters from getting closer to the hero and freeing yourself after being grabbed by an opponent. We recommend leaving some flares for the latter. With the Flare, you can avoid losing health as a result of being grabbed.
