Stray

Stray is an upcoming gem that will appeal primarily to adventure fans and... cat lovers. It's an apparently simple story of a lost cat trying to find its way home. This task, however, is not an easy feat – the small furry hero wanders around a surreal metropolis, which – although similar to the cities we know – is full of neon lights and robots. The gameplay is mainly based on exploration and interaction with the environment, pushing the fight to the background. Above all, we must be agile, move quietly and use the objects we encounter to safely move on.
This is the first title developed by the small independent studio BlueTwelve, and Annapurna Interactive is responsible for its publishing. This company also released games such as Outer Wilds, Journey and Twelve Minutes, so it specializes in interesting, unique titles from independent developers. Considering the previous games, it's hard not to have high expectations of Stray. The game was originally supposed to be released in early 2022, but according to current information, the planned date is simply 2022. In a month, or for Christmas? We don't know; it will be a pleasant surprise.
Cyberpunk vs cats
Visually, Stray looks extremely appealing. The places shown in the trailers are mostly dark alleyways, with the only sources of light being colorful neons. The atmosphere is easily tangible even in the screenshots. Stray, unlike most of the best-looking games due this year, doesn't focus on realism. The city has many realistic elements, but stylistically it seems more inspired by comic books and cartoons. The refined graphics emphasize the cyberpunk atmosphere and encourage you to explore even the smallest corners of the city. At the moment, Stray seems to have an excellent chance to stand out among this year's games – cat lovers and fans of futuristic worlds are two huge target groups, and this title seems to perfectly fit the tastes of them both.
