Most Wanted Video Games of 2022. Editors' Choice

The countdown to 2022's biggest releases can begin – especially since potential blockbusters are just around the corner – coming in February! So here's an editorial ranking of the most anticipated games in 2022.

Table of Contents

9. Starfield – Skyrim in space

  1. Release date: November 11, 2022
  2. Genre: Space RPG with an open universe
  3. Developer: Bethesda Softworks
  4. Platforms: PC Windows, Xbox Series X/S

What's Starfield about?

Skyrim in space – at least that's what we hope. The next RPG from Bethesda will take us to 2330 – the time of colonized space, when interstellar travel and visiting alien planets are not unusual. The action will begin in the period of fragile peace after a bloody war between the two factions. Playing the role of a member of the Constellation organization, we will have to explore the Milky Way and its nooks and crannies.

We will visit various futuristic metropolises and settlements, and apart from the main storyline, the game will be full of various side activities, such as the ability to play the role of a space pirate or mercenary. As always, in Bethesda's RPG, combat and character development are a must. And all of this is to play on the new version of the Creation Engine 2.

Why are we waiting?

After so many years of waiting for the next The Elder Scrolls , the appetite for great RPGs by Bethesda is huge, and the fact that this time the atmosphere will be slightly different from fantasy or post-apo only adds charm and mystery to the game. The more that Todd Howard himself describes this production as "Han Solo simulator"! So Starfield promises to be a huge space adventure that will take us many hours. Maybe it will finally be a title that will allow the endlessly ported Skyrim to retire?
