The Best Games of 2022 | December Final Update

We present the ultimate best games released in 2022. Throughout the year, we've been selecting the best games, and now, near the end of the year, the list is finally complete!

Table of Contents

Horizon Forbidden West

  5. Our rating: 9/10

The brave Aloy returned in the sequel to the warmly received Horizon Zero Dawn and stole our hearts once again. Of course, it's not without significance that the second installment of the series turned out to be better and more refined. Defeating Hades in the previous part did not solve all the problems, so the heroine has to go even further, to the eponymous Forbidden West to reboot the artificial intelligence controlling the terraforming of the Earth. It sounds complicated and the plot does require a bit of focus, but here we have some really interesting quests and, this time, memorable side characters.

Horizon Forbidden West is widely considered as one of the prettiest titles on PlayStation 5 today, and some even refer to it as "the best Zelda" outside of Nintendo. This is probably due to the extremely pleasant exploration, to which we are encouraged not only subtly, but literally every corner or ridge that you have to climb seems to hide something interesting, and indeed even there is exciting. This is definitely one of the best games of the year!

Horizon Forbidden West does not reinvent sandboxes, does not make any great revolution or even evolution in them. Instead, it brings out the best of the known mechanics without taking the easy way out. It shows how good it is sometimes not to reveal all cards to the player, not to give full freedom right away. It proves that even the biggest "works" of Game Pass can be countered with one great title. In the "Forbidden West" I experienced the greatest and unforgettable adventure in video games!

Horizon Forbidden West is a treasure trove of exploration and has everything the first one had but further expands and improves on it to give fans a more robust experience. Slight tweaks to combat make it more varied, dungeons feature even more puzzles to solve, and its riveting story keeps you hooked until the end.
