Action games. Wide category of games that require reflex, accuracy and agility. It includes, among other things, shooters (e.g. Call of Duty and Battlefield series) and action-adventure games (Tomb Raider). First and third person perspective (FPP/TPP) is used. In most cases we are playing as a character who has to defeat some enemies and reach a specific point. We can use a wide range of weapons, including pistols, rocket launchers, swords, knives and like. Action-adventure is a particular category within action games genre. Such titles put less emphasis on action and combat, focusing more on story, exploration and puzzles.

Batman: Arkham City

Doom II: Hell on Earth

Tomb Raider

The game was developed by Crystal Dynamics Studios under the auspices of Eidos Montreal. Their goal was to re-imagine the heroine in a new, grittier way. The game is set on an island near the coast of Japan, where young Lara Croft came in search for relics of ancient civilizations. Unfortunately, she gets shipwrecked during a storm.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations

An open-world action game played from the third-person view. It is another installment in the Assassin's Creed series. In terms of the plot, the game ends the so-called Ezio trilogy, which comprises of Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and AC: Revelations. The Last of Us

The main protagonist refuses to claim the throne after killing the corrupted king and instead embarks on a dangerous journey. His objective is to fix the world that is consumed by anarchy and the lack of law. The game is powered by an original physics-based engine and features a special combat system.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode Two

However, this time we play not as Booker DeWitt but Elisabeth, who was previously an independent character, herself. The heroine wakes up in unknown circumstances with a pistol aimed at her face. She makes a promise which saves her from death. According to this obligation, she is supposed to help a group of people led by Atlas in their return to the underwater city of Rapture.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

The game takes you back to the war-devastated planet of Sera, which fell victim to an invasion of an alien race, commonly known as the Locust. Playing as Marcus Fenix, a convicted deserter, you and your team are sent to stop the invaders. The game employs third person perspective.
System Shock: Enhanced Edition

DUSK

A game created by Dawid Szymanski, an indie developer, in collaboration with New Blood Interactive. The game represents the action genre and was inspired by the classic games that came out in the 90s. The plot in DUSK is only an excuse for flashy and brutal gameplay, and during the game we have to face hordes of enemies with supernatural abilities. The levels are diverse: we can choose from a modern city infrastructure, through churches, to dark undergrounds.
Duck Game

A two-dimensional arcade game developed with multiplayer in mind. Duck Game started on Ouya console, and then was brought to other platforms. The title offers intensive gameplay for up to four players taking control of cartoonish ducks on closed arenas, picking us various weapons like machine guns, shotguns and flamethrowers.

An independent tactical arcade game developed by Suspicious Developments, known for creating an espionage platform game called Gunpoint. In the game the player assumes the role of a thief-assassin and completes numerous assignments aboard procedurally generated space stations. Sometimes, one has to steal something or eliminate a VIP; however, most of the time one is bound to spend on fighting multiple enemies. Combat combines the elements featured in Hotline Miami and SUPERHOT.
Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion
