The game's development was partially funded by a grant from the Danish government. The story tells about a young boy who must stop the forces of evil that are trying to take over the world by experimenting on humans. The gameplay mechanics are similar to classic platformer games.

When it comes to mechanics, the game is a 2D fighting game with a degree of platforming elements – we participate in continuous 1v1 fights, taking place on special 2D arenas.

Visually, the game looks better than the second installment — the textures and animations have been improved.

The game, designed exclusively for one player, consists in building various constructions of gelatinous slurry balls, i.e. the title Goo, which is permanently disturbed by gravity and other laws of physics. The title, characterized by specific visual setting and original situational humour, was considered one of the most original games of 2008.
