An extended edition of Claire - a survival horror game released in 2014. In comparison to the original release, the new edition brings mainly improved audiovisuals. Once again, the development works were carried out by Hailstorm Games. The game still offers a two-dimensional environment and pixel-art graphics. However, the creators managed to implement both 3D objects and depth of field effects. Both the plot and mechanics remain unchanged, thus the protagonist, the titular teenager, faces both monsters and demons from her past when exploring the building of a haunted school. For the most part, the player traverses the game world, managing their equipment and avoiding direct contact with the enemies. Importantly, an in-game fear meter constantly monitors the player's actions - when it reaches maximum, the protagonist can die.

Another major installment of the mobile action game series developed by Madfinger Games, a Czech studio known for Dead Trigger, among other titles. The action of Shadowgun: Legends takes place in the future, and we assume the role of spec ops soldiers whose task is to save the galaxy from an alien invasion. Contrary to its predecessor, the game is a first-person shooter with RPG elements which isn’t very different from other mobile FPSs. The production can be played both in single- and multiplayer mode. Starting out, we possess weak equipment and weapons. With time and subsequently completed missions, we gain experience and funds that let us buy various enhancements. What’s interesting, players’ actions have an influence on the game’s universe, thus making it constantly change.

A city builder strategy game developed by the independent studio Mothership Entertainment. The player arrives at the planet Aven Prime, assuming the role of the founder of one of one of the first extraterrestrial colonies. His tasks include expansion and settlement of new areas, taking care of the settlement’s technological infrastructure and the morale of its inhabitants, as well as fighting dangerous fauna and results of extreme weather conditions. The action takes place in varied environments: starting from swamps, through deserts, to icy polar regions, which influences the conditions in subsequent missions. The core of Aven Colony is the single player story campaign. The game also features a sandbox mode where we have no additional tasks apart from commanding a space base. The production’s graphics are high-quality not only because of the well-designed environments but also thanks to interesting designs of futuristic buildings.

Pikmin 3DS is an arcade game with logic elements and the first game in the series to be released on Nintendo 3DS. The game uses completely new gameplay mechanics. We play as a small alien named Olimar, a character known from the previous installments of the series, who explores a brand new planet that he has never seen before. Colorful Pikmin creatures aid him in his task. He can use a whistle to summon them and give them simple orders. We beat the game levels in order to find treasures. We will encounter various enemies and obstacles on our way. Pikmin help us defeat our opponents and beat every obstacle. We use the stylus to throw them at our enemies or at lost objects. Pikmin come in various colors, each of them indicating their abilities, i.e. yellow Pikmin are immune to electricity and blue ones can dive under water. We control a limited number of them during our adventures, so we must give them orders wisely and quickly react to any changes that happen. Pikmin 3DS features colorful 2.5D visuals and the same visual style as the previous installments in the series.

A portable version of the awarded level editor that allows the players to create custom levels for the games from the Super Mario Bros. series. Similarly as in the original title, published by Nintendo in 2015, the gameplay consists of creating two-dimensional platform game levels. The title is very simple and intuitive, and this edition was enriched with touch screen support. Super Mario Maker 3DS, similarly as its predecessor, enables the player to quickly test created levels in order to easily add required improvements. However, unfinished work can be shared with other players only locally. Each feature of the game was adapted to two graphics styles – the original one that references the 8-bit Super Mario Bros and the style of Super Mario Bros. U. The game also supports amiibo figurines thanks to which the player can unlock new skins for the protagonist.

A sequel to the 2015 game Dreamals, a logic puzzle platform game by XINESS. You take control of a group of animals, each of which can only move in one direction. This time, the game features over a hundred levels set in varied environments and increasing level of difficulty. It is also once again possible to merge two animals into one creature. However, in Dreamals: Dream Quest you can also split the animals back, which allowed for the inclusion of more complex puzzles. In each level, you have to reach the key, which opens the passage to the next stage. Dreamals: Dream Quest utilizes the technology created for its predecessor, and the cartoonish 2D visuals are still pleasant.

NBA Live Mobile is a mobile edition of the popular series by Electronic Arts, distributed through a free-to-play model with microtransactions. In terms of mechanics, NBA Live Mobile is a basketball version of the Ultimate Team mode known from FIFA – NBA’s sister series; it combines features of a typical simulator with elements of a collectable card game. During the game, players choose an NBA basketball team to take charge of, and their main goal is to lead that team to the top. The centerpiece of this game is managing the team. As a manager, the player has to set the team’s tactics and sign new players, who become available gradually through subsequently unlocked (or bought for real money) card packs. After building the team, players take part in different games, trying to meet various challenges provided by the developers. In terms of technology, the game is one of the best looking, and the most complex titles available on mobile platforms.

Mobile card game in fantasy world, which is in state of chaos after the destruction of Sacred Spire. We play as one of the guardians of the Spire, trying to overcome the situation. Gameplay of Deckstorm: Duel of Guardian focuses on dueling with cards representing characters, spells and items. As usual, completing a deck the fits our play style is highly important. Despite its complex mechanics, gameplay is very fast-paced, mainly due to lack of turns, as all players act at the same time. This results in short, but intensive matches, as players must predict opponent’s plays rather than counter them. Additionally, the game offers an extensive card development system inspired by RPG titles. Unsurprisingly, single player campaign acts as prologue to multiplayer experience.

Another free-to-play game developed by the creator of Agar.io – a minimalistic action game developed for mobile devices and Internet browsers. In contrast to its predecessor, in Diep.io the player doesn’t control a ball, but a small tank in which he fights other players over points. The vehicle can move in all directions and the cannon is controlled independently from the rest of the machine. The gameplay focuses on sending missiles at colorful figures appearing on the map. Destroying them is awarded with experience points used for upgrading the tank with health regeneration, increased projectile speed and greater power. It all becomes especially useful when fighting other players that are present on the same map. Except for obtaining the highest possible score and staying alive for as long as possible, the game doesn’t have any additional objectives. The visuals of Diep.io are minimalistic – the tanks are simply colorful balls with rectangle cannons and the map looks like a piece of paper from a notebook.

During the game, player assumes the role of a warrior who is a member of an organization tasked with protecting the world from evil. In comparison to most games of the genre, the title has very simplified mechanics and instead of a large story campaign, it offers a series of unrelated challenges, usually focused on elimination of all enemies on the map. The gameplay is similar to classic beat ’em up games, but the players have no control over the movement of the party members who are automatically moving to the right side of the screen and attack the enemies on their own. The player is only tasked with activating various special abilities of each fighter. An important aspect of the game is the possibility to collect and improve characters, selected by the player before each mission.

A strategy role-playing game set in the early Middle Ages, and the first production by Sunburned Games. The game takes place in the 7th century Europe, and there is a large focus on historical accuracy and the plot, divided into campaign for each of the playable nations (e.g. the Danish, the Franks, the Picts and the Anglo-Saxons). Independently of the chosen nation, you play as a chief of a small clan, whose duty is to care for their home village and to lead their warriors during the battles with enemies. The gameplay revolves around two seasons. While you spend winter mostly in the village, planning and managing your people and resources, in summer you sail out, usually to raid others. While the exploring part takes place in real time, the combat is turn based and features card game elements.

Gameplay mechanics are rather simple and consist mostly of jumping and avoiding obstacles on a few dozen of varied levels such as jungle, floating island or a rainbow arc. Levels feature open structure, allowing the player to freely explore them and collect various power-ups like bombs or jetpacks during the race. Another installment in the popular logic puzzle/arcade game by Finnish studio Rovio. Angry Birds Evolution doesn't feature a complex story campaign: the game is set on a bird island, where the pigs arrive, and your task is to drive them off. The gameplay consists of battles between the two hostile teams. After launching your characters in a way that is distinct for the series, they roll on the floor, eliminating enemies and bouncing off everything in their way. While the basics of the gameplay seem easy, matters are complicated by the design of the levels, which are small and full of obstacles and various interactive elements, e.g. exploding crates. The gameplay is varied thanks to special abilities, which give every bird three unique attacks each. It provides a motivation for unlocking more characters — the game features over 300 of them, and each of them can be upgraded and developed further.

A combination of a two-dimensional platformer and a logic game created by the independent studio Brainseed Factory. The player assumes the role of an original protagonist, composed of four letters: "H", "E", "R" and "O", who traverses a dark world filled with threats. Exploring a fantasy land, avoiding countless traps, jumping across platforms and solving puzzles requiring the player to manipulate letters and create new words - these activities constitute the pillar of the game's mechanics. Creating words from letters is the key feature of the game, and this is how the player deactivates various traps and gains access to new locations. For instance, in order to open a gate, the player has to assemble the word "OPEN" from the four words given. Furthermore, the player often encounters various enemies capable of tearing the protagonist into shreds. Combat in this game requires us to create antonyms of words. A dark atmosphere present in the game was not built not only on a the minimalistic color palette applied by the developers, but also thanks to the soundtrack composed by musicians belonging to the Dutch sound producer SonicPicnic.

We can freely modify and upgrade all of our machines, as well as summon smaller units to aid us in our fight. A third-person perspective survival horror inspired by console productions of this genre. The action of From Beneath takes place in a town called Cedar Heights, which mysteriously turns into a living hell. The campaign tells a story of seven independent characters who have to fight for their survival. Mechanically, From Beneath is an action-adventure game with the camera hanging behind the character’s back. Each hero is different, but none of them was born a warrior. Therefore, battles pose a significant challenge and each bullet is precious. Usually, it is best to simply sneak behind enemies’ backs, stay in the shadows, and distract opponents in numerous ways. Gameplay is complemented by logic puzzles. The narration depends on the hero you are in control of – the title does not allow switching between the characters. From Beneath offers large locations, decent 3D visuals, and a professional voiceover.

While playing, we assume the role of a desperate woman named Karen who tries to find her lost son. The game has an unusual form of a flashback that takes place while the protagonist is having a sessions with a psychologist. In the title, we mostly explore and solve puzzles, although we will also engage in arcade challenges. Most of them boil down to sneaking or running, though, since the heroine is practically defenseless in direct combat and the only gadget she possess is a torchlight that comes in handy very often.

Framed 2 employs comics panel-based narrative, constructed in a way that will allow the protagonist to get out of trouble. Kyurinaga's Revenge is a typical platformer game requiring the player to explore two-dimensional levels, avoid traps and fight various enemies. The playable characters have different abilities and equipment and the key to success lies in using their individual advantages adequately. Kyurinaga's Revenge was designed specifically for split-screen co-op mode, though playing solo is also an option (in which case the player switches between the characters). What is innovative about this game however, is that although the agents are rather typical figures running around with firearms, the rogues were gifted with a unique ability to disguise themselves as different objects of the in-game environment, such as barrels, buckets, packages, shovels, rakes or ladders. This special ability allows the rogues to become one with the environment, which makes it easier to stay hidden. Additionally, both sides can make use of the various power-ups scattered throughout the maps.

An arcade monster truck racing game. The gameplay in Monster Jam: Crush It! is based on the rules of its predecessors. We can try our skills in several game modes: racing, where we have to drive on special tracks, survival, and stunt mode. Monster Jam: Crush It! offers the possibility of playing on licensed Monster Jam arenas and a number of fictional off-road tracks. It provides us with nearly a hundred challenges in which we can drive licensed Monster Jam vehicles. Similarly to its predecessor, the game is meant only for solo play, and the only element of player competition are the internet leaderboards. Graphics-wise, Monster Jam: Crush It! progressed in comparison to the previous installment of the series, making use of Unreal Engine 4. One of the title’s strengths is the game's soundtrack, recorded by the experienced Deon Voss.

A science fiction action-adventure game by Bandai Namco, based on the manga and anime series known outside Japan as The Asterisk Wars. A.W. Phoenix Festa takes place on an island, the surface of which is mostly occupied by a modern metropolis and the campuses of six rival magic schools. You can play as either the series' protagonist, Ayato Amagiri, or an anonymous Seidoukan school student. Depending on whom you choose, the plot is either linear and follows the event of the series, or is more loose and can end in different ways. The game consist of two main segments, the first one focusing on the daily life in the academy (including training sessions, which upgrade your stats, and the option to romance the female students). Another element is combat, which takes place on enclosed arenas, resembling the battles of the classic fighting and hack-and-slash games.

An indie game that combines RPG and point-and-click adventure game genres with beat 'em up elements. Sand is the Soul takes the players on a journey to CrossHill, a dark city inspired by Victorian era. Our character arrives there to deliver an important letter. It turns out that the place is filled with ancient evil. Based on our choices, the multi-threaded plot can reach one of ten endings. The gameplay in Sand is the Soul is focused on exploration. Since it is full of dangers, the player will have a lot opportunities to fight – using either melee weapons or firearms – and the battles have a rather high difficulty level. Instead of gaining experience, the players receive sand which also serves as energy and currency. However, having too much sand can lead to insanity – for example, player's character can perceive villagers as monsters.

A continuation of the popular Sunless Sea developed by Failbetter Games. This time around, the action of the game is set not in the depths of an underground ocean but in the mysterious cosmic space known as “The High Wilderness”, which Queen Victoria wanted to use as a foundation for the New British Empire. The main protagonist of this story is an outcast, who objects the rule of the iron fist imposed by the Queen. During the game, a player observes the action from the top-down perspective. Gameplay revolves around exploring new locations, gathering supplies, fighting encountered enemies, and maintaining more or less friendly relationships with diverse groupings inhabiting the vast space. Similarly to the previous installment, in Sunless Skies a player has to mind his decisions, as even a small mistake might lead to the mission’s end and the death of the main protagonist. Player’s actions affect the direction of the story. Additionally, all the visited locations are procedurally generated – this makes each playthrough different and filled with diverse challenges.

A third-person perspective action game developed by independent studio Team6 Game Studios. The developers were mostly inspired by the Road Rash series. The gameplay revolves around brutal bike races. The player is taken to the open world of fictional city of Ashen and takes on the role of a member of a biker gang. He is tasked with fighting for influence against other groups and eventually taking control of the whole territory. The main attraction of Road Rage is its story campaign in which the player must complete 42 main and 56 side missions. In addition to races, which aren’t necessary played fair since using melee weapons is a common sight in this game, the player will also participate in escort missions, battles against other gangs, and package deliveries. The look and gender of the protagonist, similarly to the weapons and motorcycle used by the character, can be freely customized by an advanced editor. The game has decent, three-dimensional graphics.
