This is the first installment of a popular investigation-themed game series Danganronpa, recreated specifically for owners of the PlayStation VR sets; the franchise has been developed by Spike Chunsoft - a Japanese team. The player is taken to a mysterious school for the most outstanding students, which is governed by an electric teddybear called Monokuma. At the very beginning, the students find out that they've been imprisoned inside the school building. What is worse however, the only way to get out of here is to murder a schoolmate in a discrete way. In the initial stage of a playthrough, the game resembles a typical school life simulation. When somebody gets murdered however, a difficult investigation begins. The process ends with a trial and the player's goal here is to point to the actual perpetrator flawlessly. Despite the fact that the gameplay formula the series have been popular for was adapted here for the VR technology, Cyber Danganronpa VR remains faithful to the atmosphere of the original game, both in terms of the mechanics and visuals.

ARKTIKA.1 is a VR science fiction first-person shooter developed by 4A Games, creators of the Metro game series. The game takes place in the 22nd century, a couple of decades into the new ice age. Humans are forced to live in areas near the equator, but the territories in the north and south are yet to be completely abandoned because they are still rich in natural resources. Some people still live in the icebound parts of the planet in order to gather them. We play as a soldier who was hired to protect a colony located in what once was Russia. As we play, we will face bandits, agents hired by our employer’s rivals, and strange creatures that came along with the ice age. Gameplay focuses on combat and its mechanics were designed from scratch to match motion controllers. Thanks to that we can, for example, use two pistols and aim in two different directions.

In terms of the mechanics, Unloved makes references to old-school shooters - action is fast-paced here, brutality is in the foreground, difficulty is high, and the player can carry many kinds of weapons at the same time. One's goal here is to find keys required for accessing subsequent segments of levels. At the end of each level, the player has to complete a serious task when fighting hordes of enemies. The player gathers bonuses making the protagonist more durable, faster or improving their skills in some different way. However, only several bonuses can be carried at the same time. Siegecraft Commander takes us to a fantasy universe, fought iver by Knights of Freemoi and tribes of Lizardmen. The game offers a single player campaign, allowing the player to control both factions. In this case, the game is similar to a traditional real-time strategy. For a change, the multiplayer mode allows us to choose between real-time gameplay and a turn-based one. The battles were inspired by tower defense genre, with the players conquering more and more territory until they clash. There is a catch, though – each tower has to have a direct link to the center, and if the chain is broken, every subsequent link is destroyed. In order to win, every player has to build complicated installations, able to sustain heavy losses and remain functional. A three-dimensional adventure game funded via Kickstarter, and a debut production from the Irish studio BillyGoat Entertainment. Her Majesty’s Spiffing is a humorous story taking place in modern times. The Queen of Great Britain has decided to add new lands to the empire, but the modern times don’t allow a simple conquest of the neighboring countries anymore. As a result, the Queen has established Special Planetary Investigative Force for Inhabiting New Galaxies – a government organization that prepares for the first manned space flight in the history of Great Britain, and the foundation of the Galactic British Empire. The mechanics of Her Majesty’s Spiffing are similar to what can be experienced in classic point-and-click adventure games – the creators have been visibly inspired by the games from the hands of developers such as Tim Shafer, Ron Gilbert, Gary Winnick, or Dave Grossman. Therefore, the players are occupied with exploration and search for items that are necessary for clearing the encountered obstacles, as well as conducting dialogues that push the plot forward. YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG is a surrealistic jRPG set in the 1990’s. It was developed by the independent developer Ackk Studios, creators of games like Chromosphere: The Two Brothers and Two Brothers. The story focuses on the mysterious disappearance of Sammy Pak who was taken by supernatural forces while using an elevator. Her friends decide to embark on a dangerous journey to save her. The single player campaign will give us around twenty five hours of gameplay. Our party of eight moves around an isometric-presented map, every once in a while taking part in turn-based battles against our enemies. The game uses Unity Engine. Visuals in YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG are much different from what we can see in other jRPGs as the game lacks any sort of manga-inspired style. All of the game's dialogues are voice acted.

A simple strategy game developed by Arc System Works. In the game, the player gets to control a group of pioneers with the task to establish a flourishing settlement and tend to the settlers’ needs. As the game begins, the player has at his disposal only one building and several servants, who have to be assigned particular jobs, like gathering resources, in order to expand the settlement. Further on the list of available structures, one can find production structures (mills, farms, factories), and utility buildings, which, among others, increase the population limits. Settlers can also domesticate animals, which in turn support our pioneers in hunting and transportation, serving, for example, as faithful steeds. As the game progresses, the player receives so-called Invention Cards, which allow them to modify given gameplay aspects, such as harvesting speed. New Frontier Days: Founding Pioneers offers three diverse game modes – Story Mode, Survival Mode, and Free Mode. The entire experience delivers eye-pleasing visuals, featuring a cartoonish style.
