Adventure, FPP, Singleplayer.
An adventure game created by an independent studio Variable State. The player assumes the role of a rookie FBI agent, who receives a task of investigating the case of a young boy’s disappearance. The plot is filled with supernatural elements, and science-fiction motifs. The plot of Virginia is completely linear, so the players can focus on experiencing the story. The action is seen from a first-person perspective, while the gameplay mechanics and the way of presenting subsequent events take full advantage of movie narration techniques – there are plenty of varied shots, visible camera work and a movie-like montage. What’s even more interesting, and practically unprecedented in other narrative-heavy games, all information is relayed through picture and sound – there are no dialogues. All conversations end when our character is nearby. The eerie atmosphere is also achieved through an original visual style, in which the simplified face models allow for suggestive relay of emotions, while the red-yellowish, autumn palette brings out the sleepy atmosphere of the area. Story wise and stylistically, the game was visibly inspired by Twin Peaks, a cult-classic TV series.

A sequel to the casual HOPA game developed cooperatively by the Serbian Brave Giant and the Polish Artifex Mundi. The action of Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter takes place 20 years after the events of the original. When the foster father of the heroine dies while fighting a demonic opponent that tried to reenter our world, the protagonist becomes the last living member of the ancient Demon Hunter order and the only person that can face the enemy who is now stronger than ever. Mechanics-wise, the game doesn’t deviate from its predecessor’s or standard HOPA game solutions at all. The story, in the course of which we visit 31 varied locations, is enriched by numerous scenes with hidden objects and new mini-games that require great perceptiveness and the ability to think logically.

The used vehicle can be modified and upgraded to suit the needs at hand, as well as repaired after wearisome journeys. An action-adventure survival horror. The game is the first title developed by Invader Studios and takes place during the late nineties. The story is filled with references to nineties’ pop culture and it is presented from the perspective of several playable characters, including a special forces soldier whose family is imprisoned in a city controlled by monsters. During the game the player travels through very dangerous locations, explores, fights and occasionally solves riddles. The title was developed mostly for genre veterans and it has high difficulty level – each bullet found during the exploration counts. In addition to that, the possibility to save the game is very limited. What’s interesting, Daymore: 1998 is a project that evolved from the cancelled Resident Evil 2 Reborn – the developers decided to use their work to create their own, commercial project.

A remastered version of the second installment of the popular BioShock series that was initially released in 2010 for PC and the 7th-generation consoles. In the game, we are once again taken to the underwater city of Rapture, featured in the original BioShock, and the gameplay is focused on exploration, solving puzzles, and fighting encountered hostiles. 2K Games, which remastered the title, focused solely on the single player campaign and therefore BioShock 2 doesn’t feature the multiplayer mode that was present in the original edition. The lack of it is compensated by a completely new mode called The Protector Trials — it is a set of challenges that are intended to test the player’s combat skills. In comparison with the original, the remastered version boasts enhanced textures and a native support of the 4K resolution. Thanks to that, the three-dimensional game powered by Unreal Engine still looks good despite its age.

The title is one of the two alternative versions of the survival sandbox game formerly known as H1Z1 that was divided into two independent productions during the early access stage. Unlike H1Z1: Just Survive, that remained faithful to the developers' original concept, H1Z1: King of the Kill focuses on dynamic action and players competing in one of several PvP modes, spearheaded by the Battle Royale mode, well-known from the original game. The game features also some elements of survival: before the struggle begins the players get a little time to gather resources and create equipment that they will use to fight their opponents. However, in contrast to the original game these elements were marginalized.

The player controls a captain of a pirate ship, whose aim is to gain fame and riches at sea. The game consists of completing subsequent missions that focus mainly on combat and exploration. The player plunders cargo ships, pirate bases, forts, and harbors. Between the missions, the player can make improvements to their fleet, choosing from sixteen diversified classes of ships, upgraded alongside their progress in the game. Once again, there are two doctors who travel into a patient’s mind using futuristic technology, in order to discover his biggest wish and fulfill it before he passes away. The gameplay mechanics stayed almost completely untouched – primarily, you explore the world, chat with NPCs, and look for orbs that symbolize the memories of the dying patient. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 provides a continuation to an unusual game created by Scott Cawthon and awarded a series of prizes - it was considered the most original horror title of 2014. In this second installment, the player takes on the role of a new watchman working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Despite the warnings received from his predecessor, he decided to give it a try and stay at the restaurant overnight. Although the entire building was rebuilt and the famous animatronics were gifted with completely new software along with a face recognition system, the robots are still hungry for human lives after dark. Surviving five subsequent nights at the restaurant turns out to be quite a challenge. In terms of the mechanics, the second installment is based on a slightly modified gameplay formula of the original game. Instead of being in charge of a lighting system, the protagonist is equipped with only a flashlight. The watch room has one entrance only now, but without a door. Thus the only way to avoid getting killed by the animatronics here is to put on a special mask which fools the face recognition systems of the robots.

Valiant Hears: The Great War is an original action-adventure game that takes place during the World War I. It was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, creators of best-selling platform games Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. The game's plot is based on authentic letters from the WW1 period and tells the story of five heroes who were were brought together by the war and... a good-willed dog that can influence the fate of people. Among our heroes we will find a French captive, an American enlistee, a Belgian paramedic, an English pilot, and a German infantryman. Gameplay differs depending on which character we are currently controlling. We will have to solve riddles and puzzles, explore, and face some arcade elements. Even though the game's atmosphere and setting are a bit grim, Valiant Hears: The Great War tends to be a bit humorous. We will also find many stereotypes about the nationalities of our heroes in the game. Game's visuals are comic book-like, "hand drawn" to some degree.
