Archetypes

The second significant novelty is Archetypes, which were inspired by great figures from the world of football. Along with them in clubs and a player's career, new classes appear, and they are diversified in terms of skills, attributes and advantages.

Manager: live challenges

The manager's career, on the other hand, received live challenges, allowing us to participate in real scenarios and also check alternative courses of events. They differ in terms of complexity and length, and among them we can find both those that last a few minutes and those that extend over entire seasons. It's worth undertaking them, because in return for successes we receive various rewards in the form of points in the season, cosmetic items or icons and heroes.

It is worth mentioning that changes in the managerial market are reflected in tactics and dynamics of teams.

Ultimate Team

The Football Ultimate Team mode has also been updated. Tournaments are waiting to be checked (consisting of a maximum of four rounds played in a cup system). There are also live events and stage events (which are a source of additional rewards), second league weekend competitions called Challengers, as well as refreshed Rivals and Champs modules.

Remaining features

As for the other novelties - the developers focused on dribbling and made it more responsive, fine-tuned the running curves, modified the AI to position itself smarter on the field (this also applies to goalkeepers), and also increased the dynamics of the players' movements. New game styles and player roles were also introduced.

Changes also did not bypass the Clubs, which received live events. In addition to this, the game allows us to play with three clubs simultaneously and brings a new, improved "Be a Goalkeeper" system, which has been introduced to Rush Clubs.

Licenses

Thanks to official licenses, EA Sports FC 26 can boast the presence of over 20,000 real footballers from over 750 clubs and national teams. We can play matches at over 120 stadiums and in over 35 leagues. Among these, we will find UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premier League, Bundesliga, Frauen-Bundesliga or UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Game modes

We can play EA Sports FC 26 alone or in multiplayer mode. It is possible to play with other people locally or over the Internet.

EA Sports FC 26 operates based on Frostbite technology, which also powered earlier titles under this banner.

Web App

EA Sports FC 26 now has a companion app called the EA Sports FC Companion. It's available on mobile devices and there is also as a browser-based version called the Companion FC Web. Both apps allow us to access features like the transfer market, setting tactics for upcoming matches, participating in squad building challenges, upgrading and personalizing cards with evolutions, and customizing the football stadiums without having to launch the game.

Ultimate Edition

EA Sports FC 26 was released in Standard and Ultimate Editions. In addition to all the content included in the base version, the Ultimate Edition includes 6,000 FC Points for two months and an additional Ultimate Team evolution. Players who pre-ordered the game can receive a non-tradable Ultimate Team ICON 93+ OVR football card, along with a Season 1 Premium Pass and a 7-day early access to the game.
