EA Sports FC Video Game Series
Sports game series, present on personal computers, consoles and mobile devices, which replaced the series FIFA after Electronic Arts lost the rights to the brand. Invariably, however, over the development of EA Sports FC is overseen by the title EA Sports, the original developers, whose portfolio also includes other sports brands, such as NHL, EA Sports UFC or Madden NFL.
A brief history of the EA Sports FC series
We first heard about the fact that the paths of Electronic Arts and the International Federation of Football (FIFA) might part, in 2021.. At that time, rumors saw the light of day, according to which there was to be an impasse in negotiations between the two entities. While the federation demanded that EA Sports pay higher licensing fees and retain the rights to use the brand for itself FIFA in ventures other than this popular sports game series, the publisher was not going to agree to an increase in fees, while at the same time demanding to be able to use the brand itself FIFA outside its flagship series.
In 2022, however, there were unofficial reports that negotiations were about to fail, causing EA Sports to lose the rights to the brand, and the game FIFA 23 - would already be released under a new name, namely EA Sports FC. Ultimately, these rumors were not confirmed in reality.... or at least not in its entirety.
FIFA 23 was, in fact, the last production under this banner that EA Sports was behind the development of.. Back in May 2022, the publisher confirmed that its successor would be released under a new title. As a result, September 2023 brought the release of the first part of the new series, the EA Sports FC 24.
Gameplay in games from the EA Sports FC series
Gameplay in the productions of the series EA Sports FC is based on the pillars erected by the series FIFA. So we are dealing with sports games in which we take part in soccer matches. The series boasts official licenses, so that real players, teams, stadiums and leagues appear in it..
We fight for victory on the pitch in a number of different modes, among which we find both a story-driven career or the ability to play single matches, as well as various variants of multiplayer gameplay. W EA Sports FC there's also an Ultimate Team mode, where we build our own team with the help of packs of players, acquired through purchases or draws.
Although announcing the creation of EA Sports FC, EA Sports argued that the change of name and logo would bring much bigger novelties in the future, initially it was limited to introducing relatively minor changes and improvementssuch as the ability to create hybrid squads in Ultimate Team mode or a new mode - Ultimate Team Evolution.
Graphics in EA Sports FC series games
Similar to the games in the series FIFA released between 2016 and 2022, productions under the banner of EA Sports FC use the Frostbite engine. The first of these, namely EA Sports FC 24, in its version for ninth-generation consoles, introduced HyperMotionV technology, which, by using real volumetric data, allowed the developers to transfer the authentic movements of individual players and players into the game.
