PS5's backwards compatibility is a topic that stirrs a ton of emotions. Sony once again announced that we will be able to launch 99% of PlayStation 4 games on PlayStation 5.

Following yesterday's Sony conference where we learned about the price and launch date of PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 brand manager Jim Ryan gave an extensive interview for Washington Post. One of the topics that appeared in the interview was the backwards compatibility of PlayStation 5 with PlayStation 4, and once again it was confirmed that we would be able to run 99% of PS4 games on the PS5 without problems.
A controversial topic in recent days, to day the least. When it was announced in March that we would play the 100 most popular PS4 games on PlayStation 5, voices of disappointment rose in numbers. Sony was quick to correct its mistake by saying that the vast majority of PlayStation 4 games would run on the PS5. This information, however, seems to avoid majority of listeners, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Sony is emphasising how many games of the current generation will be launched on new hardware whenever it can.
