Batman: Return to Arkham delayed

The launch of Batman: Return to Arkham has been postponed indefinitely a month before the initially planned release date.

Batman: Return to Arkham—an upcoming bundle of remastered versions of 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011’s Batman: Arkham City for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One—has been postponed indefinitely just a month before the initially announced release date, June 29. Yesterday, the publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, said on its official forums that after “reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience”. The WBIE representative later added that:

We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.

While it may be disappointing, it seems that WB Games has learned a lesson from Batman: Arkham Knight’s failure last year, when the PC version of the title turned out to be plagued with technical issues. The extent of these problems resulted in sales being suspended.
