Creators of Shadowrun and BattleTech are Working on a Horror Game

Famous for its BattleTech and Shadowrun series, the team at Harebrained Schemes is working on an unannounced project. For the time being, we only know it's gonna be a horror game.

The studio's output includes, among others, Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

Job offers are an excellent source of information about unannounced projects. The latest example of this comes from the Harebrained Schemes studio. The offers placed on the website of the team show that the developer is working on a horror game.

The studio is looking for a lead designer and someone to supervise the artistic side of the game. Unfortunately, the offers do not show anything more than the fact that the team working on the title consists of several dozen people.

The fact that Harebrained Schemes is still looking for people to fill such key positions means that the project is most likely to be at an early stage of production and will take a long time to be officially announced.

Recall that Harebrained Schemes is an American studio founded in 2011 by Jordan Weisman and Mitch Gitelman. The first games of the team were the mobile strategy games Crimson: Steam Pirates and Strikefleet Omega. After that, the devs created a trilogy of turn-based RPGs consisting of Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

In 2016 the team released a third-person action game Necropolis, and two years later the turn-based strategy game BattleTech was launched. The latter title was a great success, thanks to which the studio was taken over by Paradox Interactive. The upcoming horror game will be the first project that Harebrained Schemes will develop as the publisher's in-house team.
