Developers are aware of the problems with multiplayer in Grounded 2. It seems that issues are connected to crossplay.
Grounded 2 was released just a couple of hours ago. The game itself is quite good (if you like survival games that is). However, it is not free from various technical problems like crashes or multiplayer not working. As we have already covered one of them, let’s focus on the second one. Many people report that they can’t play with friends. Fortunately, the issue is known to developers, and they work hard to fix it.
Right now, it seems that there is not much you can do with not working multiplayer. Developers have acknowledged that all issues are due to crossplay and they are working to solve them as we “speak.” However, it is unknown when the multiplayer mode will be fixed. All you can do, and what developers advise, is to turn off the crossplay in the settings until the issue is fixed. Playing with friends from the same platform should be available, so sadly you need to stick to that.
We’re aware of an issue causing crashes for some Steam players when selecting Cross-Platform Play from the menu. Until this is resolved, we strongly recommend playing without cross-play enabled. We apologize for the frustration this has caused and hope to get it resolved as soon as possible.
Let’s remember that, while it was not obvious at the beginning, Grounded 2 launched as an early access title. It means that we should be prepared for some technical issues, not working multiplayer included. Of course, it is especially frustrating in the games, which are tailored to be played with others. Let’s hope that the problem will be fixed soon.
Once you manage to run the game, you may be interested in some of our guides. For example, we will tell you where to find some basic resources like weed stem, clay or how to get the first buggy – Soldier Ant.
