Elden Ring DLC May Not Launch Anytime Soon

The recent announcement of a DLC for Elden Ring was received with great enthusiasm. However, we are likely to wait a long time for a new adventure in the Lands Between.

Two days ago, we received information that game of the year 2022 - Elden Ring - will receive a story expansion titled Shadow of the Erdtree.

The news has caused a great stir among fans of FromSoftware's latest work, as evidenced by the "avalanche" of favorable comments and the huge number of positive reactions on Twitter (more than 635,000).

Fans of the Japanese studio look forward to the return to the Lands Between with enthusiasm. Unfortunately for them, a new adventure in the world of Elden Ring still seems distant.

Indeed, rumors have reached us that the DLC would debut no earlier than the end of 2023..

The information was presented by Exputer, citing an anonymous source. From the information provided, it seems that the priority of FromSoftware remains the early release of the sixth installment of the Armored Core series.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has a flexible, unspecified release date at the moment, which predicts the game's debut sometime in 2023. According to Exputer's source, the mech game will most likely be released in late September or early October.

It is worth noting that possible delays in the work on Armored Core would also be expected to affect the release date of Shadow of the Erdtree, which is next on the list of priorities of the Japanese studio.

For now, we still know very little about the expansion for Elden Ring. So far, the developers have only revealed the title of the DLC and a single concept art, which, according to speculation, depicts Miquella, a demigod and great absentee of the basic version of the game.

At the very end, it is worth mentioning that Shadow of the Erdtree should be released on the same platforms as the base game, i.e. PC, PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX/S.
