Fan-made Force Field in Minecraft has Some Unusual Uses

Minecraft players don't stop creating interesting things. An internet user from the YouTube channel IFP Minecraft has provided fans with another nifty toy: a personal force field.

Minecraft players are by no means bored waiting for the second part of the Caves & Cliffs update. Some are testing the new content added two weeks ago, while others are creating or modifying their own works. In the case of Internet user IFP Minecraft, it's a personal force field generator, which he shared on Planet Minecraft. The creator also presented the operation of this addition on Reddit and YouTube.

The creator has prepared two variants of his invention. Blue is a classic shield that does not permit entrance of hostile (and not only) mobs and objects. While the red version has the opposite effect and does not allow them to leave its area of operation. To create both - after installing the data package prepared by IFP Minecraft - we just need to throw on the ground 32 lightning rods and 10 pieces of either Lapis Lazuli or Redstone, depending on whether we want to create a repelling or enclosing force field.

At first glance, IFP Minecraft's creation is just a curiosity, but its use is not limited to stopping enemies. The creator himself gives some interesting applications, including fishing and "escorting" animals (and probably unruly villagers). However, do not expect the possibility to have fun at the expense of other users, because the force field does not work on player characters. Additionally, IFP Minecraft stressed that his creation doesn't work if we hold it in our offhand, which greatly limits its usefulness in combat.
