Games About Letter Writing, Tea Making and Other Announcements From Day of the Devs

The Day of the Devs show turned out to be very fruitful. We saw many fresh trailers of upcoming games. Several promising titles were also announced during the event.

Yesterday saw another edition of Day of the Devs, an event launched by Double Fine to promote indie games.

Much of the show was devoted to already announced projects. Among other things, we could see new trailers for the horror game Holstin, an unusual RPG Cryptmaster, immersive sim Militsioner, Thank Goodness You're Here!, cooperative Flock or Braid Anniversary Edition, a refreshed edition of one of the most important indie games in history. You can watch fresh footage of these and other titles below as part of the stream's recording.

In addition to these already well-known projects, however, several new productions were also announced at Day of the Devs.

Nirvana Noir

The adventure game announced at the show, Nirvana Noir, is a sequel to the excellent Genesis Noir from 2021. While the first part was mainly focused on storytelling, the sequel will offer much more gameplay, including playing detective during investigations.

Nirvana Noir is headed for PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. For now, the developers were not ready to give a planned release date.

Kind Words 2 (Lofi City Pop)

Another game that was revealed was Kind Words 2 (Lofi City Pop), which is a sequel to an unusual game from 2019, in which the fun revolves around letter writing. The game is expected to expand the exploration elements and will enable us to explore a city inhabited by people, whom we will try to help with simple errands.

Kind Words 2 (Lofi City Pop) is heading exclusively for PC. No word on when we can expect the release.

Loose Leaf

In turn Loose Leaf is a game described as an "occult simulator", in which as a witch we will take care of tea brewing and card divination. Responsible for the project are the devs of Boyfriend Dungeon (91% positive reviews on Steam).

Loose Leaf is heading exclusively to PC for now. The developers have not announced a release date.

Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story

A few months ago, Digital Eclipse released the excellent The Making of Karateka, a so-called "interactive documentary game" that lets you play different versions of this classic brawler and learn about the behind-the-scenes of its creation. At Day of the Devs, the creators announced the second project in the series in the form of Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story.

The project will offer an interactive summary of the title developer's career. We will be able to play 42 classic games from 8 different platforms. In addition, there will be Gridrunner: Remastered, which is a refreshed version of a Commodore 64 classic.

Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story is heading to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. No release date has been announced.

The Mermaid's Tongue

Also announced at the event was The Mermaid's Tongue. This adventure game is a sequel to the successful Tangle Tower from 2019, which has 95% positive reviews on Steam.

The game is headed for PC and as yet unspecified consoles. The release will take place next year. Interestingly, the developers made a demo version available on Steam at the same time. Those interested are advised to hurry, as the demo will be available for a limited time.
