God of War Still Undefeated on Steam, But Chinese Competition Rises

The past week on Steam once again belonged to God of War, Monster Hunter: Rise and Ready or Not. The surprize was, however, the excellent debut of Warm Snow.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Excellent sales God of War, Monster Hunter: Rise and Ready or Not continue;
  2. Impressive debut of Warm Snow from China;
  3. Renaissance of Project Zomboid continues.

As every Monday, the list of the biggest (by revenue) bestsellers of the previous week on Steam was released. For the second time in a row, the leader was the PC port of God of War. Right behind it once again Monster Hunter: Rise. The last place on the podium went to the tactical shooter Ready or Not.

A noteworthy point is the successful release of Warm Snow, a Chinese action game with roguelike elements. The game's success is all the more impressive that it is cheap (around $20). The devs were helped by the fact that, in contrast to many other Steam hits originating from China, the project debuted in English. Providing a demo was also a good move.

Warm Snow not only sells very well, but also achieves impressive activity results. Yesterday, at the hottest moment of the day, 42,233 people played the game simultaneously on Steam. This result is a mere 10,000 less than yesterday's record of God of War. At the time of writing this news, the Chinese game is also higher on the list of global bestsellers than the PC adventures of Kratos.

Dying Light 2 preorders are doing better and better, rising from eighth to fourth position. Elden Ring also continues to boast excellent preorder figures.

Total War: Warhammer III preorders also appeared in the top ten, which bodes well for the game's future, as there are still a few weeks left until its release. In addition, Project Zomboid maitained its spot and its popularity is driven by the warmly received update.
