Harry Potter fans have a request for the creators of the HBO Max TV series regarding the costumes worn by Hogwarts students.
Although the Harry Potter movies are highly regarded by fans of the young wizard's adventures, there are a few things that have upset them. Starting with how much has been omitted, through changes from the books, such as the Ravenclaw mascot and crest, to design changes between films.
Recently, they have loudly expressed their dissatisfaction with the changed Quidditch uniforms, as the new version didn’t appeal to them at all. They are even asking the creators of the Harry Potter TV series from HBO Max not to repeat this mistake and not to go for a similar design. Their concern stems from the fact that the Hogwarts uniforms in the TV series are already very similar to those in the movies, although there is nothing to complain about here.
They are only concerned about the Quidditch uniforms, as the version that became official in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince still doesn’t appeal to some of the audience. The new outfits were more sporty and practical, but in a world full of magic, where wizards dressed extravagantly, viewers preferred to see more atmospheric outfits. That is why they preferred those from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
For the Harry Potter TV series, they want something similar or completely different from both versions, showing Vladislav Pantic's fan design as an example.
It must be admitted that the fan-made version of the costumes is indeed convincing – they are both practical and atmospheric. They don’t look like ordinary sportswear and take into account the fact that players move on broomsticks, on which coats and capes could get in the way during fast flights, as well as the fact that Quidditch is a brutal sport in which all kinds of protective gear is recommended.
Whatever the creators of the Harry Potter TV series decide to do, we will find out in 2027 at the latest, when the production debuts on HBO and HBO Max.
