Is Jonah Scott the Voice of Jason in GTA 6? Let’s talk theories after the new trailer
Is it Jonah Scott, Troy Baker, or someone else from the long list? The guessing game over Jason’s voice in GTA 6 is officially back on.

A new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer just dropped yesterday, and this time we’re finally seeing more of Jason. Last year, all we had was a quick teaser and a vague sense of the story, but now things are starting to take shape. And with Jason getting more screen time, people are already obsessing over one big question: where have we heard that voice before? There’s a long list of possible voice actors, but I think I might’ve figured it out.
There are two strong candidates for Jason in GTA 6
Back in the first GTA 6 trailer, which was released in December 2023 (yes, it’s already been almost a year and a half), we got a few scenes with Lucia and the chaotic energy of Vice City. But Jason only said one word at the very end: “Trust.” So there wasn’t much to go on.
Now that he actually talks more in the new trailer, there have been a few potential candidates. One of the first names that came up, understandably so, was Jonah Scott, who voiced Aiden in Dying Light 2. There’s definitely a similar vibe. But the rumor reached Jonah pretty fast, and he cleared it up on X, saying: “That ain’t me.”

Of course, that could be a cover, maybe he’s under NDA or something. The voice does sound familiar, even though Jason’s voice is noticeably deeper than Aiden’s. And if you're thinking of Jonah’s other role as Legoshi in Beastars…it really sounds like Jason, right?

Next up on the list of suspects is none other than Troy Baker. I mean, do I even need to explain who he is? He’s Joel in The Last of Us, Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Sam in Uncharted, and more recently, Indy in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. But is it really him this time? He’s insanely versatile, sure, but if you’ve ever heard his voice as Paz in Metal: Hellsinger, that sounds eerily close to Jason. But again, I don’t think it’s him.
Turns out, the list is even longer than we thought
A bunch of other names have been thrown into the mix too – Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear, Andor), Sam Worthington (Avatar), even Nolan North (Nathan Drake from Uncharted). But nothing’s confirmed yet. After the first trailer, a lot of people were convinced it was Dylan Rourke (Grey’s Anatomy) behind the mic, but now with the new trailer, that theory is starting to fall apart.
The best thing to do is wait patiently for official info from Rockstar. But who am I kidding? Of course we’re gonna keep speculating and coming up with wild theories, one of them is bound to be right eventually. Personally, I’m still putting my money on Jonah Scott. That’s my final answer (for now).
And of course, I’m still convinced Lucia is voiced by Manni L. Perez. She even looks like her! I know Rockstar doesn’t always use an actor’s likeness in-game, but in this case, it feels way too spot-on to be a coincidence.
