Mandalorian Fans Want Gina Carano Replaced by Lucy Lawless

Who will replace Gina Carano in The: Mandalorian? Fans already have their favorites to replace the fired actress in the role of Cara Dune: Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) and Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time).

Gina Carano's recent controversial post proved ta hve dire consequences for the actress. But this begs a question: who will replace her in the role of Cara Dune, a beloved character of Star Wars fans? Viewers already have their favorites. Social media has been abuzz with suggestions that Gina Carano be replaced in the third season of The Mandalorian by Lucy Lawless.

The idea of casting the actress known for Xena: Warrior Princess was thrown around by, among others, the hosts of the Severed Sons podcast in a post on Twitter, which at the time of writing this text has been liked nearly 25 thousand times. The trend was quickly picked up by other internet users, countering Carano's fans calling for people to stop watching the series after their favorite actress was fired by LucasFilm. Others are proposing that Cara Dune be played by Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time) and have even started a petition on Change.org. Viewers point to the similar looks and past roles of both actresses, proving they could replace Gina Carano.

So far, Disney representatives have not said a word about who will play Cara Dune in the next season of The Mandalorian. However, it's doubtful that the producers of the show will decide to quietly remove the character from future episodes. The fact that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a spin-off series with Dune in the lead role has allegedly been considered shows that the studio is aware of the character's popularity. Shooting on the third season is set to begin in April, so there's not much time left to engage a new actress.
