Valve has released a new version of the Steam Mobile app. It offers quite a few useful features.

Valve has released an updated version of the Steam mobile app.

  1. The app, dubbed Steam Mobile, has been extensively redesigned, receiving a new look and features.
  2. Among the new features are QR code scanning for PC login, smarter notifications (e.g. about sales), customizable bookmarks and a new library view for remote downloading so that the game will be waiting for us when we get home.
  3. Of course, the app also offers all the features of the older version, allowing for, for example, browsing the store and making purchases, receiving Steam Guard codes or confirming exchanges.
  4. The app is available for download in the App Store and Google Play.
  5. For Android owners, the application has additionally been made available as a separate APK file, enabling you to install the program without using Google Play.

It's worth mentioning that in addition to Steam Mobile, Valve has two other mobile apps - enabling you to stream games from your computer Steam Link and Steam Chat. The latter has also been updated on Android, and soon the same will happen on iOS.

Reactions to the updated Steam Mobile app are generally good, although it's hard to talk about universal admiration. Gamers liked the new features, including in particular QR code scanning. Significant satisfaction is also caused by the fact that Valve has also made the program available as an APK file. Some users are complaining however, that Steam Chat is a separate application. There is also no shortage of people who don't like that it is a web app and not a native one.
