It took almost a year, but Steam has finally set a new record for the number of concurrent players.
Steam is constantly gaining popularity. Yesterday, a new record was broken â?? 33.676 million people were logged in to Valve's platform at the same time.
The previous record was equal to 33.598 million concurrent users, set in March 2023. It's somewhat surprising that it managed to break it just now, and not during the holiday season, when players had a lot of free time to play, and there was also a big winter sale going on.

Steam's record results are of course driven by games, so it's worth taking a look at which titles are currently the most popular on the service.

The most popular games on Steam remain Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 , two titles from Valve. It's worth noting how well Baldur's Gate 3 holds up five months after its premiere. It is also pleasing to see the continued high position of Lethal Company, which shows that small productions with a good idea can still compete with the giants of the industry.
Steam continues to grow and its position as the largest digital distribution platform on PC remains unchallenged. The emergence of competitive services was not able to change this. Many large publishers, such as Electronic Arts, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft, tried to create their own alternatives, but in the end they all returned to Valve.
