Geoff Keighley Invites to The Game Awards 2021 With His Hand-edited Hype Trailer

Geoff Keighley, the popular video game presenter who will host Thursday's The Game Awards 2021, has published a self-edited trailer for the event. Are there any surprises in store?

On Thursday we will witness The Game Awards 2021, a kind of gaming Oscars gala, which was created by a well-known journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley. Dozens of titles and only thirty categories? Which game will win? What surprises can we expect? Fragmentary answers to these questions are provided the hype trailer posted below - edited by the host himself.

The host of TGA will traditionally be Geoff Keighley, but he will not appear on stage alone. He'll be joined at the awards ceremony by actors such as Ashley Johnson (Ellie from The Last of Us), Laura Bailey (Abby from TLoU2) and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings). The hosts will take the viewers through categories like "game of the year," "accessibility innovation," "best narrative," "best esports team" and "most anticipated game." You can find the full list of categories along with the nominations here.

The trailer above shows mainly games that can be found in the linked list. However, you can also see, for example, Halo Infinite, which only debuts on Wednesday so it could not compete for any statuette. While in the case of 343 Industries' game we can talk about celebrating the launch, the presence of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which is due to be released in 2022, is somewhat surprising. Let's hope that Rocksteady's new game won't be the only surprise at Thursday's gala.
