The Watch Trailer Reveals a Very Peculiar Pratchett Adaption

A trailer of The Watch, TV series based on one of Terry Pratchett's novels appeared online. However, fans are not satisfied with what they saw and accuse the creators of moving too far away from the source material.

Terry Pratchett is one of the most important fantasy literature writers of the last few decades. Lovers of his works were very pleased to hear that another series will be created based on one of his novels from the popular Discworld series. The show is called The Watch and has just received first trailer. The trailer has disappointed the fans very much. They accuse it of great inconsistency of the characters with their book counterparts. Judging from the reactions, it is unlikely that they would accept the work as a full-fledged adaptation. Do you agree with them? Or will you watch The Watch out of pure curiosity? The series will debut on January 3, 2021 on BBC America.

His adventure with journalism began with a personal blog, the name of which is no longer worth quoting. Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
