Total War Returns to Antiquity? Devs Spilled New Installment's Title

By coincidence or not, but we probably learned the subtitle of the next historical installment of the Total War series. It indicates that Creative Assembly's new game will take us to antiquity.

Update

Infallible industry insider billbil-kun reports that Total War: Pharaoh will be officially announced in the coming week. What's more, this internet user provided, which versions of the game we can expect. They are to be:

  1. Standard edition - preorders will supposedly come with two sets of cosmetic items: Heart of Shardana and Avatar of the Gods (their names may or may not suggest that TW: Pharaoh will not be a 100% historical installment of the series);
  2. Deluxe Edition - is additionally expected to include Faction Pack 1 and a soundtrack;
  3. Dynasty Edition - is additionally to include Faction Pack 2 and 3, as well as Campaign Pack34.

Original post

We probably learned the subtitle of the new installment of the Total War sries. It has been spotted on the official website of the series - it was enough to expand the list of categories and among them one could find Total War: Pharaoh. However, the item was quickly removed.

It would unequivocally indicate that the new part will take us to antiquity - specifically, to the Egypt of the pharaohs, that is, to the period between 3000 and 30 B.C. (a more precise time frame is difficult to determine). The very fact that another historical Total War is being made, however, is nothing new - it has been communicated already in March 2021.

It's hard to say whether there was simply a mistake, or whether we are dealing with a deliberate ploy by Creative Assembly, trying to hype the new game. Assuming that something is up, one can count on the fact that the details will be announced in June at Summer Game Fest 2023 or another such event.

Total War: Warhammer 3 will get the coveted naval battles?

However, this is not all that the British developer has in store. Yesterday the series' Twitter profile published an intriguing post (below). In it, we see soldiers sailing on a ship like in to Empire or Napoleon: Total War. One of them pulls out a telescope and sees... dancing orcs from the Warhammer universe.

Perhaps it's just a joke, but one can also draw a conclusion - which is what Internet user Mike Hillier did - that we are dealing with a kind of announcement of a 'Man O'War DLC' offering naval battles, which the community has been demanding since the release of the first installment of Total War: Warhammer.

If the player's guesses turn out to be true, such an expansion will most likely be releases for TW: Warhammer III. At the same time, it is unlikely to happen too soon - in the recently revealed roadmap there is no mention of such a novelty.
