Watch Dogs Legion - RTX 2080 Ti Under 60 FPS With Ray Tracing in 1080p

When ray tracing is enabled, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti cannot keep 60 fps in Watch Dogs Legion despite running in 1080p resolution.

Watch Dogs: Legion looks nice. But is it that pretty?

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. With ray tracing enabled in Watch Dogs: Legion, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti cannot retain 60 fps at 1080p;
  2. Journalists have not had the opportunity to test the DLSS;
  3. There are more than three months left until the game's release.

It looks like with ray tracing reflections enabled in Watch Dogs even an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is not powerful enough to run this Ubisoft game in 60 fps - and that's running only at 1080p. That's what the editors of Digital Foundry concluded.

In this situation, it is even difficult to decide what PC we will need to run Legion in 1440p or 4K resolution. Of course, we can always disable ray tracing, but that's a small consolation - users who are willing to spend a lot of money on a top of the line chipset don't do it to reduce details.

DLSS may be a relief here, but DF editors haven't had a chance to test Nvidia's intelligent image scaling in Watch Dogs: Legion. Even though this technology will keep the smoothness at 60 fps in 1080p, it won't be a crazy result for such a powerful GPU.

It remains to be hoped that the developers will still be able to optimize their work until its release. Watch Dogs: Legion will launch on October 29. In addition to PC, the game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also be available later on next-generation platforms - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
