Microsoft has released the February update for Windows 10. It contains a lot of fixes, but some users are complaining about problems with installation.
Microsoft released the cumulative Windows 10 update that includes the February pack of bug and security fixes. Depending on the currently installed version of the operating system, we will download version 19042.804 (for Windows 10 20H2), 19041.804 (for W10 2004) or 18363.1377 (W10 1909).
We can download the update directly using Windows Update or by downloading the offline installer from the catalog on Microsoft's website. Since this is a smaller package, the developers responsible for the development of Windows 10 have focused on patching bugs instead of adding new features.
However, before we rush to download the pack, we'd like to warn about possible inconveniences that may occur. Windows 10 is notorious for bugs popping up every time new patches are installed.
Two days ago, the optional update KB4598291 was made available, aimed at fixing issues reported by some users. However, the patch refused to install for random users. A brief investigation determined that we are dealing with the same bug that appeared during the May 2020 update. Some people also encountered problems with support for games that use DirectPlay technology (World of Warcraft is one such case).
