World War 3 Open Beta Delayed to Unspecified Date
The Farm 51 has decided to postpone the release of the open beta of World War 3. Recent tests showed that the game is not sufficiently polished in technical terms.
If you managed to test World War 3 during the free weekend, you're probably a long way from the next opportunity to play the open beta. The Farm 51 has decided to postpone the game's release date to an unspecified future.
Game still needs work
As we can read on the official website World War 3, developers have decided to postpone the open beta due to the game's technical condition.
"We will use this extra time to polish the game, fix network bugs, improve server stability and ensure that World War 3 will fulfill our vision of an exciting network FPS game that is free and accessible to all players."
The Farm 51 also highlighted the fact that February's free weekend load tests were an important factor in the decision.
"World War 3 has been developed and changed for the better as a direct result of the time you spent playing the game and the feedback you shared with us during the closed beta. However, it is clear from the recent open testing that we still have some work to do before the game is technically ready in order to cope with a larger number of players."
So what about the release?
With only the information about "near future" being available, it is difficult to make any guesses about when we will be able to play the free beta of World War 3. It's safe to assume that such an option will appear in the second half of this year.
If you can not wait for The Farm 51's game, you can still buy a closed beta package. This will give you access to the game and at the same time you will make your contribution to how the final version of World War 3 will look like. The package is available both on Steam, as well as on World War 3's website.
