Microsoft does not want a replay from the start of Xbox One

Jason Ronald (director of program management for Xbox Series X) revealed a lot of information about a subject thet recently made waves on the Internet - backward compatibility. In the message, he said that it's extremely important for Microsoft to "preserve the legacy" of the previous generation of consoles so that a new generation of players can experience the best games of the past on new hardware. He pointed out that his team spent more than 100,000 hours testing games from Xbox One S, Xbox 360 and even the original Xbox from 2001. Such bold assurances, combined with dry numbers, are part of the trend of Microsoft's aggressive and very effective (at least in the opinion of most Internet users) marketing policy in recent times, which, unlike Sony (and the widely mocked presentation of the SSD) reveals a lot of details about its new console.

Just as important as the information about the size of the game library is the promise to improve their quality. Xbox Series X is to enable us to run games from older consoles with higher frame rates (in selected games the increase will be double - from 30 fps to 60 fps or from 60 fps to 120 fps) and active HDR mode (it is to be supported even in titles that have never supported it). All this is to be done without any loss of smoothness or image quality, and resolution will be increased to 4K. Finally, we've also heard that older titles will benefit from SSD, as previously predicted, so loading times will be drastically reduced.

We have to admit that Microsoft's vision is tempting and beyond promises we got a lot of tangible information, we know the appearance of the console and a lot of details that Sony does not yet reveal. However, according to the opinion of Internet users (mostly correct), it is the quality and number of exclusive titles will be a more important factor in choosing the console.
