One of the endings of System Shock Remake is the good ending, considered canon to the series. On this page we explain how to dispatch the final boss on the Citadel and how to defeat SHODAN in Cyberspace by destroying her shields.

This page contains massive spoilers regarding the finale and the good ending. We've described the game's hidden bad ending on a separate page of the guide.

The final battle against the Cortex Reaver

The final area of the game is the Bridge - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

The final area of the game is the Bridge. Unlock the central throne room and use three levers inside to unlock the teleporter.

You'll reach the upper part of the throne room, where you'll encounter the Cortex Reaver. This is the final boss fought in the real world.

You've fought the Reaver numerous times by now, with this fight not changing up much either - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

You've fought the Reaver numerous times by now, with this fight not changing up much either. Use your best weapons and don't bother saving ammo, use the energy shield to absorb damage, throw EMP Grenades to stun the opponent and keep moving. Use cover whenever you can, but keep in mind that some of the central cover is destructible.

After the battle search the Cortex Reaver's remains to find the Command Keycard.

Using the Cyberspace Terminal on the bridge

Use the Keycard on the nearby door. This unlocks the final Cyberspace Terminal. Save the game before using it. You must go to Cyberspace to deal with SHODAN once and for all.

Defeating SHODAN in Cyberspace

This time, rather than fly, you'll run across Cyberspace - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

This time, rather than fly, you'll run across Cyberspace. You have only one weapon here, which you'll find in the first room. Use it to destroy hostile programs. Strafe and hide behind cover to avoid their gunfire.

When you stand on a platform, you'll see a ring of sorts - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

When you stand on a platform, you'll see a ring of sorts. Fire at the tower until you hit it with a large round projectile. Each time you do, you'll destroy a part of SHODAN's shield.

Reach the side areas, looking for passages to them on the sides - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

Reach the side areas, looking for passages to them on the sides. You don't need to destroy every encountered enemy program. Try to get rid of those interfering when you're firing from the platforms.

The good ending

Destroying all three shields finishes the battle and triggers the ending cutscene - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

Destroying all three shields finishes the battle and triggers the ending cutscene. You'll successfully stop SHODAN and leave Cyberspace.

After one last cutscene, the end credits will roll - System Shock Remake: Good ending - Endings - System Shock Remake Guide

After one last cutscene, the end credits will roll.

You can't continue playing System Shock Remake after completing the main storyline. It's justified storywise, as the Bridge disconnects from the Citadel once you reach it via elevator. If you want to keep playing, you'll need to load a previous save.
