While traveling through the corridors of the Citadel space station, you will surely come across many items that are not useful to you. This seemingly useless junk can be turned into scrap. This, in turn, will come in handy when you come across a Recycle Station.

In the context menu, select Vaporize. The item will then disappear from the inventory, and in return you will receive a certain amount of scrap units. You can learn about the amount of scrap you receive by dismantling a specific junk by selecting the item, and then looking at the table on the right side of the screen.

The scrap occupies only 1 slot in the inventory and can be stacked. This means that vaporizing the collected junk on a regular basis can help you avoid a problem of overloading the inventory.

How to use a Recycle Station?

Recycle Stations are special places where the collected scrap can be converted into Tri-Credits. You can spend them on, e.g. healing items in vending machines scattered around the station.

It is worth noting here that the Stations process not only the scrap itself, but also junk-items. While most of them are worthless (the value of the" recycled " item is visible in the table on the right side of the equipment), elements such as electronics or medical materials can be recycled for a significant amount of credits.

This type of junk is therefore worth processing individually, because the amount of credits you get for processing them at the Recycle Stations far outweighs their value after turning them into scrap.

Processed scrap is worth 1 credit for every 10 units - System Shock Remake: What is the Scrap for? - FAQ - System Shock Remake Guide

Processed scrap is worth 1 credit for every 10 units. What's important - a Recycle Station doesn't give any change. This means more or less that they round the payment down and deposit the incomplete stack of 10 scrap units. Since the collected scrap cannot be divided into smaller stacks in the equipment, scrap in the station is processed when you collect an equal number of scrap units.
