The Alters: Is there a New Game Plus mode?

The Alters encourages multiple playthroughs of the campaign, so it's only fair to wonder if it offers New Game Plus as well. On this page of our guide, you will learn whether you can start a new campaign on harder settings in NG+, also in order to replay cut-scenes with important choices.

Is NG+ mode available?

1. After completing The Alters for the first time, you may want to play again on a higher difficulty level, make different choices and unlock other endings.
2. Unfortunately, the devs did not include any NG+ mode. Hence, there is no possibility to set an even higher difficulty level or introduce any additional modifiers when starting a new playthrough. Starting a new playthrough will not unlock any new content or alternative endings. The cutscenes involving important choices are all the same.
3. Interestingly, thanks to the save system, you don't have to go through the entire campaign again. You can go back, for example, to the beginning of a specific act or to a day with an important choice. The first very important decision is the choice between Tabula Rasa and Implants, which awaits you in the second act. This specific save lets you play the campaign starting from this choice, which allows you to experience slightly different events and reactions of the alters to your decision.

1. The only thing the game remembers are the so-called Lessons Learned. You can browse them in the main menu and unlock them by completing alters' mini-tasks. Lessons Learned will allow you to use special dialogue options in selected conversations, but they will not dramatically affect their course. Additionally, learning all lessons will get you a trophy, which you can work on over multiple playthroughs.
