The trophy list for The Alters contains many achievements. Their requirements are hard to understand and ways of obtaining them are not easy to determine. Our trophy guide should help you get them more easily, as we've described 56 different achievements. This will bring you closer to achieving the platinum trophy in The Alters.

A Quantum Singularity

Trophy type: platinum

How to unlock: Get all the trophies in The Alters.

Comment: You can only unlock the platinum trophy in the PS5 version.

The Survivor

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach the base.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it. You will get it at the beginning of the prologue.

Two of Us

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Create the first Alter.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it. The first alter will always be Jan Technician. You will create him in the prologue using the quantum computer and a womb module.

Dig Deeper

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Set up the first outpost.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it. The first Mining Outpost is tied to deep Organics Deposit Areas. You'll have to build it in the prologue. We've described the whole process in detail on the page How to use the scanner?.

How to unlock: Finish the Prologue.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it.

The Bridge

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Build a bridge over the lava river.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it. It's a part of the main task The Path Ahead from Act 1. You need to produce and place Bridge Anchors - two on each side of the lava river. This will create an energy bridge, which will allow your mobile base to pass the river.

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us

Into the Storm

How to unlock: Finish Act 2.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it.

Time to Go Home

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Finish Act 3.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it.

I Found You

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Find the rebel base.

Comment: You can start searching for the rebels' hideout in Act 3. You can find its location on the attached picture. There's a path leading there from the side of deep metal deposits. The rebel base is at the foot of a large tree.

Corporate Plug

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Start treating the brain mutation using implants.

Comment: This trophy is tied to an important choice from Act 2 and is mutually exclusive with the Bold Science achievement.

You have to choose the implant option instead of the tabula rasa option - we've shown the final choice in the attached picture. We recommend securing your save file on the day of making the choice. That way you'll be easily able to play through both options.

Bold Science

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Start treating the brain mutation using experimental therapy.

Comment: This trophy is tied to an important choice from Act 2 and is mutually exclusive with the Corporate Plug achievement.

You have to choose the tabula rasa option instead of the implant option. We recommend securing your save file on the day of making the choice. That way you'll be easily able to play through both options.

Her Last Wish

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Technician's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements tied to an alter's storyline. Each of these trophies requires more than just talking to the given alter. You also need to perform additional actions and make the right choices.

You'll need to find the Holo Chip and build a Park with Bench (Green Refuge) in Act 2. Additionally, during the major choice you'll need to choose the implants. You'll also have to bring the rebels back to the base and contact Lena in Act 3. The Technician must tell you the whole story of "his" mother.

Hidden Truth

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Scientist's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements tied to an alter's storyline. In Act 3 you must find the rebel base and help them. Deliver supplies and connect their hideout to the mobile base. The Scientist's mini-quest will be available in the final hours of the game and you have to do it immediately.

Keeping Him Safe

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Refiner's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You have to create Refiner Jan after selecting him in the quantum computer. The trophy is tied to Refiner Jan's boyfriend - Ben. We've covered all the necessary steps in more detail on the How to save Ben? page.

Remaking Himself

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Miner's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You have to create Miner Jan after selecting him in the quantum computer.

You have to choose the serum to restore his arm and send him to the contemplation room so that he doesn't work himself to death - we've described it in more detail on the How to solve the Miner's Arm Issue?page . Additionally, you'll have to choose implants in Act 2, as well as bring the rebels to your base and help the Miner with his project in Act 3.

The Other Man

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Botanist's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You have to create Botanist Jan after selecting him in the quantum computer.

You must create him in Act 1 and you must get permission to talk to Lena to develop a solution together with her. Choose the implants option in Act 2, and bring the rebels to the base in Act 3. After all conditions are met, Botanist Jan should suggest swapping places with you at the end of the game.

You Gotta Be Smart

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Guard's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You have to create Guard Jan using the quantum computer.

At a certain point in the story, someone will steal food from your base. Let Guard Jan handle the investigation. Near the end of Act 3, the Scientist and the Guard should confront each other at the Quantum Computer room. You must support Guard Jan's idea regarding acquiring data.

Happy Sisyphus

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Doctor's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements tied to an alter's storyline. You must create Doctor Jan and Shrink Jan(you can add him a bit later) using the quantum computer.

Choose the implants in act 2. In Act 3, you should get a tattoo mini-quest from the Doctor. You need to consult Shrink Jan about it. Return to the doctor with the recommended solution.

Take It Easy, Dude

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Shrink's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You must create Shrink Jan using the quantum computer.

In Act 2 bring Shrink Jan some special tea and choose the implants. In Act 3, lead the rebels back to your base and ask Lena and Lucas for help. The Shrink should meet you at the captain's cabin near the end of the game.

A Place in People's Hearts

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Complete the Worker's storyline.

Comment: This is one of the achievements related to an alter's storyline. You have to create Worker Jan and Refiner Jan using the quantum computer.

In Act 2, pick the implants and talk to Scientist Jan. You'll learn that the Worker won't let you install the implant in him (ignoring this will get him killed). Agree to implant the device when Worker Jan is asleep. The Worker will be furious at you. You need to talk to Refiner Jan and prepare a special soup.

Lead the rebels back to the base in Act 3. Additionally, find a pin on the planet surface and give it to the Worker as a gift.

Assertiveness

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Technician's lesson - Assertiveness.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Techician Jan's help you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Build the first rapidium ark as part of the main story, then talk to Technician Jan and agree with his views on the corporation. If the lesson doesn't unlock, construct a Social Room, play beer pong and look for another opportunity to interact with the technician.

Reliance

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Botanist's lesson - Reliance.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Botanist Jan's help (you have to create him) you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Wait until Lucas calls and asks you for help with some uncomfortable questions asked by Lena. This quest is time-limited and can get cancelled eventually, so get on it right away. Discuss this matter with Botanist Jan and let him talk to Lena.

Vulnerability

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Miner's lesson - Vulnerability.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic With Miner Jan's help(you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

After Miner Jan starts complaining about his arm, refuse to give him painkillers and get him to amputate his own limb. A new choice will appear. Pick the serum to regrow his arm. Additionally, to unlock the lesson, it may be necessary to send Miner Jan to the contemplation room first.

Charisma

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Worker's lesson - Charisma.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Worker Jan's help (you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Wait until you receive a mini-quest from Worker Jan tied to maintaining the supply of radiation filters and good working conditions for the next 5 days. The lesson is a reward for its completion. If you encounter any problems, load your save from the beginning of the previous day so you don't have to repeat all five days.

Optimism

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Refiner's lesson - Optimism.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Refiner Jan's help (you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Wait until Refiner Jan asks you to produce dumbbells and set up a gym in the base. Agree and talk to him after he shows up at the gym. You will find out about Ben (this is tied to the Keeping Him Safe achievement) and also learn a new lesson.

Integrity

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: learn the Doctor's lesson - Integrity.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Doctor Jan's help (you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Pick the implants in Act 2. After advancing to Act 3, Doctor Jan should approach you about getting a tattoo. You need to consult this with Shrink Jan (create him in the quantum computer if you don't have him already) and pass on his suggestions to the Doctor. Bring the rebels back to your base first if Shrink Jan doesn't want to cooperate.

Chill

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: learn the Shrink's lesson - Chill.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Shrink Jan's help (you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

In Act 2, Shrink Jan should approach you with a request to create a unique tool. Help him out and take hallucinogenic mushrooms with him to deepen your bond.

Shrewdness

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Guard's lesson - Shrewdness.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Guard Jan's help (you have to create him), you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

After the food theft at your base, you can discuss the problem with Guard Jan. You have to complete his mini-quest that consists of installing a surveillance system and discovering the thief.

Joy of Life

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: learn the Tabula Rasa's lesson - Joy of Life.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic Tabula Rasa is a unique Alter without its own personality, which you can create in Act 2. You must choose the implants option, so that the Tabula Rasa is not "sacrificed" in order to develop a method of curing the remaining alters.

Advance to Act 3 and wait for the Tabula Rasa to appear near the airlock at the base. This will create an opportunity to talk to him.

Pragmatism

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn the Scientist's lesson - Pragmatism.

Comment: This trophy is tied to the lessons mechanic. With Scientist Jan's help, you can unlock a new personality trait for the protagonist.

Advance in Act 1 to experience the first magnetic storm. Shortly after that, Scientist Jan will suggest 2 days of crunch time so that everyone works longer. Agree and set it up in the Assigned Tasks tab (picture above). Talk to the Scientist again after completing his mini-quest.

Awareness

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Unexpected member stays with the crew.

Comment: The unexpected member is the alter Tabula Rasa, that is, an alter without a personality, whom you can create at the end of Act 2.

By default, the Tabula Rasa was meant to be "sacrificed" in order to develop a method of curing the remaining alters, but you can change your mind and choose the implants instead. This will cause the Tabula Rasa to stay with you and live at your base in Act 3.

Who Else Is There?

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Upgrade the Quantum Computer.

Comment: You can upgrade the quantum computer by advancing to a higher Qubit Level. We have described all the required steps in detail on the FAQ page How to increase qubit level?.

The Ultimate Builder

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Build all possible modules.

Comment: You can unlock new rooms by conducting research. Your Alters may also mention them. Additionally, the Park with Bench becomes available after you find the Holo Chip in Act 2. We also recommend expanding the base to accommodate all types of rooms.

Reunited

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Convince the rebels to come back.

Comment: Choose the implants instead of the Tabula Rasa in Act 2. After advancing to Act 3 and reaching the rebel hideout, you can start helping them - provide them with resources and then connect their hideout with your mobile base using pylons.

In the end, they should reconcile and return. Technician Jan will not agree to come back if you have sacrificed the tabula rasa, even if you help them as much as possible.

Not Just An Object

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Give every Alter at least one personal item.

Comment: Personal items are also known as gifts and you have to find them as collectibles while exploring the planet. Try to fully explore each chapter's map to find all secrets.

Every personal item "fits" a specific Alter and you can give it to them by choosing the dialogue option during the conversation (example pictured above). There is no risk of giving a gift to the wrong Alter.

All By Myselves

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Create all possible Alters.

Comment: This is not possible during a single playthrough, as you won't have enough slots for all available alters. The game remembers choices from previous playthroughs. When replaying the game, choose different Alters than last time.

Provide More

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Build the second Rapidium Ark.

Comment: See the description of the Exceed All Expectations trophy.

We Needed That

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Build the third Rapidium Ark.

Comment: See the description of the Exceed All Expectations trophy.

The Mission Comes First

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Build the fourth Rapidium Ark.

Comment: See the description of the Exceed All Expectations trophy.

Exceed All Expectations

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Build the fifth Rapidium Ark.

Comment: Five Rapidium Arks is the maximum number you can build in your base. You need to unlock higher research levels (higher Qubit Levels), expand the base and spend lots of resources.

You have time until the end of the game,as the quests for building the Rapidium Arks will not disappear from your journal as you advance to the next Acts. We have described the entire process in more detail on the FAQ page How to build a rapidium ark?.

Jan Complete

Trophy type: gold

How to unlock: Learn all the lessons from your Alters.

Comment: You need to unlock all other achievements related to the lessons mechanic - check their descriptions in our trophy guide to learn more. Additionally, you have to advance to Act 3.

Smart Management

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Start a production uphold.

Comment: This is a game mechanic that you can find in the production tab. One of the Alters can also explain it to you. You can set a minimum supply of a given item. After exceeding it, the game will automatically add the next items to the production queue. It's best to set this for radiation filters as to not run out.

Look At All This New Space!

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Expand the base for the first time.

Comment: You will need research and a lot of materials. We've described the process on the page How to expand the base?.

Jan's Moving Village

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Expand the base to maximum capacity.

Comment: This is an extension of the previous trophy, Look At All This New Space!. You need to upgrade the base to level four.

Baaa!

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Pet the sheep.

Comment: You will create the sheep in the prologue, after using the quantum computer and the womb module for the first time. This is the perfect moment to pet it (press the interaction key). The sheep will disappear from the base in Act 2, so don't put the trophy off for later.

The Corporate Way

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Finish the game with the help of the corporation.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

You have to choose the implants option in Act 2. Upon reaching the end of Act 3, you can choose any of the available endings (they are tied to separate trophies).

Maxwell's Path

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Finish the game with Maxwell's help.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

You have to choose the Tabula Rasa option in Act 2 and make sure Lena never finds out about the Alters' existence. Then finish the story.

Advanced Industry

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Produce the first part of resources using the Refinery.

Comment: To get this trophy, you need to build a refinery. The ideal person to operate it is Refiner Jan. The refinery can process raw materials into other materials. You can easily extract enriched metals, then refine them into metals and organic substances (pictured above). You will also be able to process ALX resources later on.

In Shield I Trust

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Walk into an anomaly 20 times.

Comment: We've described the topic of anomalies in more detail on the page How to avoid anomalies?. Touching an anomaly means an increase in radiation levels, but anomaly shields can protect you from that. Touch 20 different anomalies throughout the entire game.

The Things We Do For Love

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Betray everyone as the Botanist.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

In Act 2, choose the implants option and have Botanist Jan among your alters. At the end of Act 3, you will receive an objective to say goodbye to the alters and the Botanist will suggest swapping places with the "real" Jan. Agree to his suggestion. Playing as Botanist Jan, choose the option to do nothing.

It Ends in Flames

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Blow up the base.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

Choose the implants option in Act 2. After destroying the Interal Tree in Act 3, you will have an option to sabotage the base. You need to produce four explosive charges and place them in different parts of the base. After saying goodbye to the alters, choose this option.

We Made It Together

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Survive the magnetic storm.

Comment: The achievement is tied to the story and you can't miss it. You will experience your first magnetic storm in Act 1. We've described surviving the storm on the page How to avoid radiation?.

New Perspective

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Get an alternative tattoo with Naranath Bhranthan.

Comment: Doctor Jan will bring up a tattoo, but only if you have chosen the implants option. You will also need Shrink Jan - create both these Alters.

In Act 3, bring the rebels back to base and go to Shrink Jan with the Doctor's idea. He will suggest his own pattern. Agree to it.

I Deserved This More

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Come back to Earth as the Botanist.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

In Act 2, choose the implants option and have Botanist Jan among your alters. At the end of Act 3, you will receive an objective to say goodbye to the alters and the Botanist will suggest swapping places with the "real" Jan. Agree to his suggestion. Playing as Botanist Jan, you can now choose whatever you want.

All By Myself

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Leave your Alters to the mercy of others.

Comment: This is one of the trophies tied to the game's endings.

Choose the implants option in Act 2. After saying goodbye to the Alters at the very end of the game, choose to do nothing (still playing as Jan, not as the Botanist).
