Near the end of the penultimate mission in Death Stranding 2, that being main order No. 47, you will be attacked by an enormous BT resembling a giant crab. This battle can be challenging as it takes place at the end of a very long journey. On this page of the guide we have described how to prepare for the battle and defeat the BT.

How to prepare for the battle with the enormous BT?

The battle with the BT takes place at the end of a very long trek. Order No. 47 requires you to travel across all of Australia, back to Mexico, and then back to Sam's shelter, where the game began. You will fight the boss right next to C1 in Mexico, near your destination. Here's what you should take with you:

  1. The battle guitar,
  2. A machine gun,
  3. A rocket launcher or a grenade launcher,
  4. EX Capture grenades,
  5. Blood bags.

Make sure you bring EX Capture Grenades with you! You can only fight this particular BT once. If you don't catch it here, you won't have a second chance!

How to defeat the enormous BT?

The key to fighting the giant enemy crab is to keep moving away from it. The enemy is very slow, but makes up for it with its size. If you're beneath it, it will grab you with its claws and devour you, which means an immediate game over. Therefore, stay away from it at all times and do not let it get close to you. If you're trapped at the edge of the arena, summon a captured BT to distract the boss.

The crab's main ranged attack is a rain of fire that falls from the sky. The flames don't target you specifically, but the area in front of the boss, so move elsewhere to avoid them.

The boss's weak points are obvious - the orange joints on its legs. They are tiny targets that are difficult to hit with explosive weapons, as the boss keeps swaying slightly and explosive projectiles are slow. Instead you should destroy them with charged shots from the battle guitar - its projectiles are fast, and a fully charged shot will instantly destroy the weak point. Try not to miss though, because a single charged shot costs a whopping 150 Chiral Crystals. The destroyed joints will be covered with golden crystals. Don't waste ammo on them and aim for the other legs.

After destroying a few joints, the boss will fall over, revealing tumors on its head. Start firing at them with a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher until it stands up.

When the crab tips over, it will start sending swarms of BT jellyfish into the air, which fly towards you. Clear the swarm with a machine gun. Try to aim for the red jellyfish, which explode upon death, clearing out a large portion of the swarm.

Once the crab's health bar turns red, you can throw an EX Capture Grenade into its mouth. Smoke will leak from its mouth - look for it to make your final throw easier and end the battle.
