Death Stranding 2: How to defeat Neil for the third time?

In the main order No. 45 - close to the finale of Death Stranding 2, you'll face the mysterious man, Neil Vana, for the last time. How to prepare for the third battle with Neil?

The final battle with Neil takes place in Nirvana again. You will be taken there when you exit F7, right after completing order No. 44. Just like before, you'll have a moment to prepare. Leave behind everything that is not a weapon or a blood bag. We recommend equipping yourself with:

1. A quadruple rocket launcher,
2. A machine gun or your preferred backup weapon,
3. A few blood grenades,
4. Climbing or combat gloves (the choice is yours - climbing gloves allow you to pick up weapons and cryptobiotes from further away, while combat gloves deal high damage in melee)
5. At least four blood bags.

When you're ready, exit F7 to enter Nirvana. This time you don't have to fight your way through the undead hordes. Go through the empty train to immediately begin the final battle with Neil.

How to defeat Neil?

The final battle with Neil is definitely the most difficult, but at the same time simpler than the others - instead of a cat and mouse game it's a few shootouts through a linear subway station. Neil fights like he usually does, but he also has a new weapon - a rocket launcher, which can fire several rockets at once. Sprint to the side when he fires rockets or hide behind cover (stay slightly away from cover to avoid damage). After using the rocket launcher, Neil has to reload it, so he is left briefly vulnerable. He will also always warn you with a quick line of dialogue before firing.

There are plenty of rocket launchers lying around the arena. They are always worth picking up. They allow you to easily eliminate Neil's minions - they stick close to him, so a few rockets sent at the group will get rid of all the minions while damaging the boss.

Occasionally Neil will teleport into the air and stand upside down on a levitating piece of rubble. Fire a rocket at him - a single shot will destroy the rubble and force Neil back to the ground. Always keep a close eye on your odradek. If it points upward, Neil has moved somewhere higher.

In the middle of the fight you'll watch a long cutscene. When it ends you'll have to enter an empty train. On your way there, pick up a level three shotgun off the ground - it will come in handy in a moment.

From now on you and Neil will fight one on one. You'll face him in a gunfight inside an empty train. Scan the area with your odradek to spot Neil hiding behind the seats. Throw grenades at him when you see him. The arena is cramped, so the shotgun you just picked up will come in handy here. The more damage you'll deal, the further Neil will run. Chase him to the end of the train.

When you reach the end, Neil will reverse gravity. You will have to escape from the train while it's falling upwards. Sprint forward without stopping. When leaving the train, wait a moment for the remaining carriages to fly towards you. You can run atop them. Eventually you'll reach the station's inverted roof, where you'll duel Neil for the final time.

The arena is huge, and Neil teleports frequently - scan the area and look at the odradek. If he gets too far, get behind cover and put down suppressive fire until he gets closer. If he appears right next to you, holster your weapon and dodge towards him (L2 + X). Attack him in melee until he vanishes again. Shoot him with a rocket launcher if he stands on the levitating rubble and watch your step - there are holes in the roof. Falling means an immediate game over. After a long battle, you will defeat Neil and complete the quest.
