Forspoken is the upcoming game by Luminous Productions, responsible, among others, for one of the most famous MMORPGs in recent years, Final Fantasy XV. Forspoken itself will offer a completely different gameplay model – it's a third-person open-world action game that fits well with the current trends. Its release is planned for the beginning of October 2022.
What will Forspoken be about?
The game is about a young woman who, as a result of a series of strange events in modern New York, ends up in a magical realm of Athia. Of course, returning home isn't easy, and the world she finds herself in is full of dangers and challenges. Fortunately, the heroine quickly discovers that she wields magical powers and this is where the fun begins.
A unique feature of Forspoken is magic-powered parkour, i.e. the ability to swiftly navigate the world using magic. Thanks to the heroine's powers, our movement isn't easily hindered, and the animations, as you can see in the announcements, are very powerful. These features can help Forspoken stand out from similar games.
The impression is not only constituted by beautifully animated magic attacks that we can admire in the trailer. All of Athia is to be refined in the smallest detail, and the views will probably often make us stop on a hill to simply soak up this virtual landscape. The only downside is that the game is, again, a Sony exclusive. Only PS5 users will be able to play it – Forspoken is one of the first games that will be fully exclusive to the current-gen console, without PS4 compatibility.
