What is Everspace 2 about?

Everspace 2 is the second part of the space shooter game, where we observe our ship from the third-person or first-person perspective. The story takes place immediately after the events of the first installment of the series - we control one of the pilots. Once again, we have to break the cover life of a miner and sit behind the controls of a fighter jet. There's a skillfully handled plot, an open world and quite a few tasks to complete, during which we explore both open space and the surface of various planets.

The game consists of dynamic and spectacular battles with other ships - from small and agile to increasingly larger objects, including huge cruisers. Exploration itself can also be dangerous, but the rewards here are valuable items. The game also includes several RPG elements - related to spaceships. We start with basically scrap, but over time our hangar is enriched with decent machines with a lot of upgrades.

What makes it worth playing?

The second part abandoned the roguelike format for a greater amount of polished action with conflicts on a massive scale. The space battles provide a lot of fun, the storyline is long and engaging, and then there is an endgame full of Diablo-like loot waiting for players. Despite the large open world, Everspace 2 doesn't overwhelm with its size. Everything here is pretty much condensed around the main plot and action, so fans of total freedom and space exploration, as in Freespace or Elite Dangerous, may be a bit disappointed.
