What is Showgunners about?

Showgunners is another strategy game in this compilation with a turn-based battle mode, but it is produced by the polish studio Artificer. We are participating here in a brutal reality show, in which for the amusement of the audience we have to fight for our life with a gang of mercenaries. The plot of the game centers around the main character's revenge against the producers of this show. Turn-based battles take place on special arenas, which are full of traps, but also elements that make the fights easier. In addition, the show's supervising director can also help or bother us in our confrontation with mercenaries. The characters have a variety of special abilities and weapons, which we discover as the plot develops.

What makes it worth playing?

Showgunners will certainly please not only fans of the movie The Running Man with Arnold Schwarzenegger, but also enthusiasts of the XCOM series. The fights look very similar here, although there are not as many surprises and injustice when it comes to RNG. The developers managed to bring a lot of excitement to the slightly static, slow turn-based mode. This makes all the clashes simply addictive, leaving us unsatisfied and wanting more. Between fights, we get to know our characters better, do interviews and make a name for ourselves. For some, the linearity of the gameplay may be a disadvantage - there's no room for any side steps or procedurally generated levels - everything has been specifically tailored.
