Most Wanted Video Games of 2022. Editors' Choice

The countdown to 2022's biggest releases can begin – especially since potential blockbusters are just around the corner – coming in February! So here's an editorial ranking of the most anticipated games in 2022.

Table of Contents

12. Atomic Heart – BioShock in the Soviet style

  1. Release date: 2022
  2. Genre: FPP
  3. Developer: Mundfish
  4. Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series

What will Atomic Heart be about?

This is an action shooter (FPP) created by the Russian studio Mundfish. So it seems like an Indie game, but one that shows a larger budget and the momentum of production. We will not really know the details of the plot until the premiere. At the moment, only an outline of the story has been revealed, in which we play the role of a secret agent investigating a mysterious facility. It is known that strange experiments were conducted there, and the machines endowed with intelligence revolted against the people. In addition, you can meet disgusting zombies everywhere – the result of another experiment of an even more mysterious doctor. We will have to explain what actually happened there.

Why are we waiting?

From the first trailer, Atomic Heart delights with the atmosphere, thanks to which the terms "Eastern BioShock " were often used. The game is soaked with references to the Soviet Union and the 1980s. Added to this is the weird, surreal artistic style that is most clearly visible in the designs of opponents or robots. In combination with brutal action, shooting straight from Doom and probably some environmental puzzles, Atomic Heart has a chance to turn out to be an intriguing, extraordinary production, which is definitely worth waiting for.
