The countdown to 2022's biggest releases can begin – especially since potential blockbusters are just around the corner – coming in February! So here's an editorial ranking of the most anticipated games in 2022.

Table of Contents

10. Horizon: Forbidden West – mechanical dinosaurs in San Francisco

  1. Release date: February 18, 2022
  2. Genre: action game
  3. Developer: Guerilla Games
  4. Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5

What will Horizon: Forbidden West be about?

The warrior redhead Aloy is back! We will meet her a few years after the events of the first game. The post-apocalyptic world seems to be calm, mechanical dinosaurs have stopped a bit, but a new threat in the form of a mysterious plague and even more deadly robots appears on the horizon. This time Aloy will face, among others, a giant snake and creatures resembling mechanical pterodactyls, mammoths or velociraptors. Traveling freely through the huge world of the game, we will come to the ruins of San Francisco.

Why are we waiting?

Horizon: Forbidden West brings hope for a repeat of everything for which we liked the first part and then a completely new brand. The game world is especially impressive, where people live almost like in the old tribal times, but everything takes place in the distant future, when machines have managed to develop extraordinary intelligence. The combat mechanics previously looked great as well, allowing Aloy to deal with huge beasts with futuristic versions of the old weapons. Sequel should deliver all of this in an even better graphic design and with some minor improvements.
