A turn-based strategy game, with RPG and simulation elements, developed by Microprose. The story of UFO: Enemy Unknown takes place in an alternate reality of the year 1999, where the players take on the role of the leader of X-COM, an organization created to prevent potential alien threats. When reports from many corners of the world come in about numerous missing people, terrorized cities and hideous genetic experiments - X-COM soldiers have to move in. There are two fundamental aspects of gameplay: the economical one, where we manage the budget of the organization, build bases and outfit them with the necessary equipment. We also determine the direction of scientific research; and the strategic one, where we detect and shoot down UFOs and send soldiers to mop up the remaining aliens.

The eight major entry in a cult cRPG series created by Richard Garriott, whose first part debuted back in 1980 as one of the first commercial products in its kind. The next chapter in the saga about the nameless hero known as the Avatar is a continuation of the events of the previous game. The main antagonist is again the evil demon Guardian, who managed to capture the hero, and wants to take revenge on him for thwarting the demon’s plan of conquering the continent of Britannia. Hence, Ultima VIII: Pagan takes you to a very different world, called Pagan, governed by unfamiliar rules. The player, obviously, has to break free and ultimately defeat evil. When compared to the seventh installment, released in 1992, the game employs a brand new engine, therefore the number of details is significantly greater, although the title still features isometric view. As you play, you control a single hero and gradually develop his statistics and skills over time.

The Art of War expands mainly the single player content but it isn’t devoid of some changes in multiplayer as well. The biggest novelties include two new playable nations: Bavarians and Danes. Apart from them, Cossacks: The Art of War introduces five new campaigns in which we lead such countries as Prussia, Austria, Saxony, Algiers, and Poland to battle. In them, we can take part in historical missions and see their alternate course. The gameplay at sea was enriched with seven ships, including the famous Victoria.
