Developed by Fedeen Games, Torchlight Mobile is a spin-off to a popular hack-and-slash game series. The title was developed from scratch with mobile devices in mind, and thus it is not a simple conversion of any of the previous installments. Torchlight Mobile invites you into a classic fantasy universe, as it stands on the brink of destruction at the hands of servants of darkness. Obviously, the task of defeating the evil forces and saving the world falls down on the player. You can pick any of the four playable character classes: Berserker, Engineer, Outlander, and Embermage, each one representing a completely different profession and requiring different play style. In a typical action RPG manner, the gameplay boils down to fighting hordes of monsters, developing your character’s skills, and upgradeing their equipment, e.g. by combining several weaker items into one more powerful. Torchlight Mobile features slightly cartoonish artworks, characteristic of the core games in the series.

The plot of the game rather faithfully recreates the events known from the comic and the movies based on it. We assume the role of Harumichi Bouya, who is transferred to an infamous high-school - the Suzuran All-Boys, infested by a gang of young bandits. As the city is filled with other, competing gangs, the metropolis becomes an arena of relentless struggle for power and position in criminal structures. On one hand, the game tells a story of the brave warrior Pankapu - as told by a father reading this story to his child, Jaha'rell. The actual gameplay is rooted in that story, for the player assumes the role of said warrior, who was created by the god of dreams in order to eradicate the nightmares invading this world. On the other hand, the player gets acquainted with a dark story of Jaha'rell, though in this case, the player does not have any direct influence on the course of events. In terms of the mechanics, the game is a classic action-platformer, requiring the player to explore subsequent locations, avoid various traps and fight nightmares. Another installment in the popular series of flight simulators set during the World War II period, developed by 1C Company in collaboration with 777 Studios. Il-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban takes the players to the Eastern Front of the World War II, giving them a chance to participate in the eponymous Battle of Kuban. The game is played over an area of 300 by 400 kilometers. During aerial battles you can pilot such machines as Bf-109 G-4, Yak-7b, IL-2 mod.43 UBT or Spitfire Mk.VB. Additionally, some of the battles are waged on the sea and land, in which an essential part is played by destroyers, cargo ships, submarines, torpedo boats and tanks. What puts the game (and the entire series) apart from other titles is historical accuracy when it comes to World War II period as a whole as well as the flight mechanics for planes of that period. The game offers expansive single player campaign and co-op multiplayer with a functional mission editor.

Action, Hack'and'slash, Samurai, Singleplayer, TPP.

Another installment in the series of dynamical action games traditionally developed by Omega Force. This time the player assumes the role of Yukimura Sanada, one of the more popular protagonists of the series. We follow his story from birth, through the trainings that prepare him to combat, to the civil war and death during the siege of Osaka. The gameplay is similar to the one present in the previous games in the series and is based on battles with thousands of participants. Among the improvements created by the developers there is a selection of game modes – the adventure starts in the “castle city”, a base from which we can not only select playing mode but also participate in various side activities. The main mode of the game is a historical war campaign during which the player has freedom to select tactics and optional objectives. What’s new are the “Long-term Battles” – fights that take many hours and have a day and night cycle. Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru has high quality graphics provided by the engine created for the fourth main installment of the series.

Moreover, Train Simulator 2017 offers new locomotives, spearheaded by TGV Duplex, DB BR 218, and NJ TRANSIT ALP-45DP. Just as it was previously, the new game is fully compatible with Steam Workshop, therefore fans are free to create their own content and share it with the entire community. As always, the core gameplay element in Train Simulator 2017 is the career mode, which lets you take part in several dozen diverse scenarios.

Action, Horror, Indie Games, 90s, Action Adventure, Singleplayer, Survival Horror, TPP.

An action-adventure survival horror. The game is the first title developed by Invader Studios and takes place during the late nineties. The story is filled with references to nineties’ pop culture and it is presented from the perspective of several playable characters, including a special forces soldier whose family is imprisoned in a city controlled by monsters. During the game the player travels through very dangerous locations, explores, fights and occasionally solves riddles. The title was developed mostly for genre veterans and it has high difficulty level – each bullet found during the exploration counts. In addition to that, the possibility to save the game is very limited. What’s interesting, Daymore: 1998 is a project that evolved from the cancelled Resident Evil 2 Reborn – the developers decided to use their work to create their own, commercial project.

A remake of the two-dimensional platform game released in 1986. The new version was developed by Korean studio CFK. The gameplay of Wonder Boy Returns features traveling through various levels, jumping between platforms and fighting enemies like bees, spiders and penguins. From time to time the player faces bosses as well. In the eggs scattered across the levels the player can find power-ups that gives the protagonist new abilities (such as temporary invincibility) and weapons. In comparison to the original, the game has much richer graphics – the character models and environment textures were upgraded and the title received additional animations and light effects that accompany some of the attacks.

A survival horror focused on co-op gameplay. Twin Soul was developed by White Noise studio, which was previously famed for creating a Source Engine-based modification called Silent Hill: Alchemilla. Twin Soul is set in Russia, not long after the dissolution of the USSR. The players assume the roles of souls of dead people trapped in the purgatory, trying to find their way to the afterlife. Gameplay is focused on dealing with numerous monsters, each one with unique qualities, such as sharp vision or increased hearing. Since most of the monsters are really strong and the ammo for firearms found on the way is scarce, the best way to deal with opponents is to avoid open fight and sneak past them, distracting, or creating elaborate traps. It is also important for the two players to tightly cooperate with each other. Twin Soul features amazing atmosphere inspired by H.R. Giger’s art, David Lynch’s films and modern culture of Russia.

A first-person survival horror developed by independent studio Elastic Games. Last Year draws inspiration from typical slasher films. At the core of gameplay lies asymmetrical multiplayer designed for up to 6 players. In Last Year five players play as typical American teenagers, while the sixth assumes the role of a psychopath, hunting down the rest. In the game each hero has a particular role to play, and the key to success is proper cooperation and using each character’s strengths. It’s also important to gather resources and items, which can be used to create impromptu weapons. Also the individual killers have unique abilities – each of them offers different killing techniques. The deadly competition takes place in various locations. There, the players’ task is – as you may easily guess – to use the items appearing on the maps and survive the nightmare by any means possible.
