Adventure, Crowdfunding, Experimental/artistic, Exploration Games, FPP, Indie Games, Singleplayer.
An experimental, first-person adventure game created by Hollow Tree Games – an independent, Canadian developer. Shape of the World does not offer a plot as such; rather, it focuses on delivering a certain visual experience. The player takes on the role of a nameless traveler who introduces different changes to the world around along his way. The changes made are divided into two kinds: the passive (as the player follows the designated path) and the active. The latter requires the player to shape the surroundings, for example, by deciding how much vegetation is to grow in a particular area or giving different colors to it. The game world is dynamic, for it changes when the player roams it. Thus, places visited before can look completely different when the player goes back to revisit them. What is important however, is that the player is not forced to follow the designated path. Instead, the game rewards the player for wandering off the beaten path and thinking on their own.

We move through locations in a manner known from platformers, overcome obstacles by performing certain gestures in a right moment, and the more precise we are, the more points we earn. When we meet enemies, the game employs fighting game mechanics. Virtual currency is then used to develop our characters by buying new special abilities. Additionally, we must look over the company like in a typical management simulation games.

RPG, Crowdfunding, Fantasy, Hack'and'slash, Action RPG, Singleplayer.
A representative of the hack ’n’ slash genre, created by Dreamatrix Game Studios. The title is a follow-up to the 2013 Legends of Dawn. The players once again find themselves in Narr – a land inspired by Slavonic mythology. The plot of the game, which is not directly connected to its predecessor, focuses on a mysterious danger approaching from the dark swamps – the place has been releasing terrifying creatures, up to this point known only from myths and legends. Heroes from neighboring countries decided to put an end to the danger, lured by a promise of money from the local authorities. The gameplay in Wave of Darkness doesn’t try to be innovative, unfolding in the same vein as that of other known titles of the genre. Its mainstay is the exploration of the open world and combat with hordes of enemies. Aside from the main plot, we can also embark on the path of various side quests. The key to success is attained not only through collecting new pieces of equipment, but also by developing our hero. What’s important, we won’t find a rigorous class system, as we are free to choose any ability from the list of 35 different traits. Additionally, the game contains a system of crafting and upgrading current equipment, as well as the ability to create new spells. Sacrifices made to the gods allow our hero to receive temporary bonuses to individual abilities. The action is presented from an isometric view, with the finely-crafted locations being a definite highlight – the list includes catacombs, medieval castles, cemeteries, but also original ones such as flying islands.

Our job is to lead the settlement to become a successful and thriving city. To do that, we need to have access to certain resources and able workers – both these elements unlock access to new buildings and technologies. The economic model is quite developed – we are left with more than 24 types of resources, while the population is discerned by 15 professions. Additionally, the mayor has to make sure that the inhabitants are content, as well as maintain peaceful relations with other cities. Aside from an extensive single player campaign, Lethis: Path of Progress contains a more relaxed sandbox mode. The game uses eye-friendly, two-dimensional graphics with a slightly cartoonish design.

In contrast to previous expansions, The British Forces features also a number of cosmetic improvements in graphics and animations as well as improved balance between various factions.
