An action platformer game with roguelike and metroidvania elements, developed by the indie studio Hikergames. In Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found we step into the shoes of an animated toy hero named Brand, who is actively fighting with the forces of darkness that want to take control over his owner. To defeat evil, our protagonist has to uncover the secrets of the family home and discover some facts about his own past. The action of the game is presented from a side-view camera angle, and the gameplay revolves around several core segments. The most important of said segments is the exploration of procedurally generated locations, which can prove quite challenging due to various dangers and puzzles, which have been integrated into the environment. Over 300 unique enemies will stand in the way of our protagonist, including several powerful bosses, that will require us to devise the appropriate strategy to defeat them. All of the above is further diversified by a crafting system, as well as character development, which allows our hero to gain new, useful abilities on his adventures.

An advanced railway simulator developed by Dovetail Games, a developer known from the popular Train Simulator series. Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul follows in the same vein, yet is treated as a separate project based on new technology. Unfortunately, this means that the title is not compatible with numerous add-ons released for the Train Simulator series. As always, the gameplay involves controlling various railway engines and traversing numerous railways found all around the world. Moreover, the players can create their own tracks thanks to the included editor. The game contains both single and multiplayer modes. Interestingly enough, the game is powered by Unreal Engine 4, an engine used in titles such as Final Fantasy VII Remake, Days Gone, or Gears of War 4. As a result, the new incarnation of the railway series received multiple fixes, as well as improved graphics and physics.

Developed by a small indie studio Lucky Pause, Homesick is an adventure game inspired by such classics like e.g. the Myst series. The story of Homesick starts off when a nameless hero wakes up in a mysterious, abandoned house. The player’s task is to solve the dark mystery of the building and escape this unusual prison. Pursuing these objectives puts you up against a dark entity. The events are observed in the first-person perspective, whereas gameplay is based on exploration of environments, ransacking visited rooms and solving puzzles encountered along the way. The latter are mostly based on manipulating the environment, and the key to solving them lies in discovering multiple hints hidden in the game’s world. An interesting addition that enhances gameplay is the day and night cycle, which influences the way some puzzles can be solved, but also is related to the fact that the protagonist suffers from photophobia, while at night he is haunted by nightmares.

Quite obviously, the whole game focuses on trying to get the ball to the hole throughout courses filled with obstacles. What makes Cloudlands: VR Minigolf different from similar games are unique controls. There are no pointers or tips – player’s moves are sent to the controller in 1 to 1 scale, meaning it resembles real-life minigolf. The game features both a career mode for single player and a multiplayer option (through network or on a single device), as well as editor to create your own courses to share with others.

Another paid DLC for Endless Legend, a turn-based strategy 4X game from Amplitude Studios released in September 2014. The main feature of this add-on is a new playable faction in form of Morgawr – an aquatic race specializing in naval battles and animal control. Like previous sides of the conflict, Morgawrs have unique buildings, units, technologies and characters. Most importantly, though, the arrival of this race came along with expansion of the game’s world to include seas and oceans, and naval fights allow for usage of naval or air units, and even sea monsters. There are a few exclusive mechanics for such skirmishes that were not present in base game. All of this with dynamic weather mechanics, as well as presence of unplayable faction of Fomorian, which tries to stop our expansion on seas.

An RPG from the dungeon crawler genre, developed by the independent studio Goblinz. Players are taken to fantasy world filled with dungeons to explore, treasures to find and monsters to defeat. At the same time, Dungeon Rusher offers a humorous approach to classic heroic fantasy tropes. We lead a party of adventurers, who must defeat a lord of darkness, dwelling in the deepest dungeon. Our team will consist of a shaman, an archeress, a warlike dwarf and a bard. Gameplay comes down to exploring and fighting enemies as we travel through two-dimensional map. When we meet hostile creatures, we are taken on the battlefield and engage in turn-based combat, which requires proper positioning of our fighters and wise use of their abilities. We also find many items, including weaponry, and there are crafting and trading systems. Aside from single player campaign, Dungeon Rushers offers a multiplayer mode to fight against other players.

Cloud Pirates is an action MMO game created by the Russian studio Allods Team. The game takes place in the fantasy world of Sarnaut that suffered a mysterious cataclysm thousand years ago. In its result, the world was shattered into floating islands. To improve communication between them, and in order to search for treasures and ancient artifacts, special airships were constructed. In time, the adventurers operating those ships received a new name - cloud pirates. We play as one of them. Gameplay in Cloud Pirates focuses on air battles. Nothing stands in our way if we want to play as a lone wolf, but it is more reasonable to form squadrons and search for the remnants of the old Sarnaut as a group. Defeating more powerful enemies requires us to use our team members individual traits and our joint forces. Ships we can use differ in terms of the design, weaponry, stats, and maneuverability. Victories unlock access to upgrades (not only for our ship, but also for our crew), additional munitions, and unique combat abilities. Allods Team also included many options that allow us to modify the appearance of particular units. The game has colorful visuals.

Another installment in a series of logic games; it was created specifically for Nintendo 3DS. The player's goal here is to paint appropriate cubes in such a way so that models hidden inside of them can be revealed. The game was based on the rules of a puzzle created by Non Ishida - a Japanese graphics designer. Although the gameplay resembles Minesweeper for PC, the environments are three-dimensional. Blocks can be rotated freely and digits that are visible on particular cubes (the blocks are made of those) inform the player about the number of neighboring cubes they should paint with a given color. If cubes get painted in the correct color, they disappear, revealing a fragment of the model hidden inside the block. Managing to color the entire block of cubes correctly results in the entire model being revealed to the player, which can represent characters created by Nintendo for example. In Picross 3D Round 2, two new colors were added, as well as more complex models hidden in particular puzzles. The game supports the Amiibo protocol, thus the player can digitalize the figurines they own.

An original combination of strategy and arcade games, delivered by Hypersect - an independent developer. The players assume the role of white and black vehicles that move on the surface of a monochromatic map resembling a chessboard. What is the most important here, the machines can remain only on squares of the opposite color - the missiles they launch change the color of the squares they hit, creating paths the vehicles can take. Apart from that, enemies using the same kind of weapon can be found throughout the levels. Therefore, the player has to constantly remain in control of the situation, preventing the enemy from both hitting the player's machine and cutting off its escape route. The game offers both single player and multiplayer modes - in the latter case, both co-op and competitive modes were included. What is characteristic about Inversus, is that the game's 2D visuals are minimalistic, which makes it easier to control the battlefield.

The levels, called “episodes” in-game, are endless, although you can progress to the next one after earning a certain amount of points. Every character has a special ability, which helps them overcome obstacles (e.g. Sonic can triple-jump and Knuckles is super-strong, which makes him hit harder). The game features nicely designed maps full of platforms, enemies, and obstacles, making it more difficult to break records. You can find many collectibles and fight various bosses. The characters can be upgraded (they have three statistics: speed, strength, and acrobatics) and unlocked. The game's beautiful 2.5D was inspired by classic 8-bit and 16-bit console productions. The game was withdrawn from distribution due to a too aggressive business model.

A representative of the hack ’n’ slash genre, created by Dreamatrix Game Studios. The title is a follow-up to the 2013 Legends of Dawn. The players once again find themselves in Narr – a land inspired by Slavonic mythology. The plot of the game, which is not directly connected to its predecessor, focuses on a mysterious danger approaching from the dark swamps – the place has been releasing terrifying creatures, up to this point known only from myths and legends. Heroes from neighboring countries decided to put an end to the danger, lured by a promise of money from the local authorities. The gameplay in Wave of Darkness doesn’t try to be innovative, unfolding in the same vein as that of other known titles of the genre. Its mainstay is the exploration of the open world and combat with hordes of enemies. Aside from the main plot, we can also embark on the path of various side quests. The key to success is attained not only through collecting new pieces of equipment, but also by developing our hero. What’s important, we won’t find a rigorous class system, as we are free to choose any ability from the list of 35 different traits. Additionally, the game contains a system of crafting and upgrading current equipment, as well as the ability to create new spells. Sacrifices made to the gods allow our hero to receive temporary bonuses to individual abilities. The action is presented from an isometric view, with the finely-crafted locations being a definite highlight – the list includes catacombs, medieval castles, cemeteries, but also original ones such as flying islands.

Gameplay is very similar to that in the title’s former parts. You assume the role of a space ship captain who tries to survive in the world ravaged by conflicts by trading in resources, hunting down various criminals, and fighting space pirates. The game features a universe almost eight times bigger, where the players can create and develop their space bases. The game's atmosphere is dark and surreal, inspired by road movies, the culture and music of the 1980s and the works of Philip K. Dick, William Gibson and David Cronenberg, and the visuals complement it. Especially noteworthy are the surreal sceneries full of blurred shapes and pastel colors, contrasting with the pixel-art character designs.

A game inspired by 16-bit classics and developed by Coffee Powered Machine. Okhlos combines elements of action games with features associated with the roguelike genre. The player takes on the role of an ancient philosopher who's task is to lead crowds of angry Greeks to battle against mythological gods. The game is played from an isometric view and noticeably, offers pixel-art visuals. The player's goal here is to defeat twelve gods of Olympus, who are supported by various creatures having their origins in Greek myths - for instance, gorgons or cyclopes. The game takes place in eight Greek polis. In case the protagonist dies, the player assumes control of another philosopher from the crowds. The player fails only when all the leaders die in battle. Okhlos was enriched with an encyclopedia that contains large amounts of information concerning the in-game characters and creatures the player encounters.

A colorful platform game taking place in a magical world in the clouds. Heroki was developed exclusively for iOS-based mobile devices. We assume control of a boy who is tasked with retrieving an invaluable artifact that guarantees the land’s safety. When it comes to mechanics, we are dealing with a classic platform game, a bit similar to the latest installments of the Rayman series. Similarly to the hero of the latter, Heroki is equipped with a propeller on top of his head, and a wide range of abilities. During the game, we visit varied locations such as beaches, caves, hills, valleys, and cliffs, filled with a number of dangers and enemies to beat. We can also fly using the aforementioned propeller using a virtual pad. Levantii (the land in question) is filled with various shops that allow us to buy numerous power-ups, such as shields, explosive cookies, or hourglasses that slow the passage of time.

Fourth major DLC for the extremely popular collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft from Blizzard. The expansion, developed by the creators of the base game, revolves around the eponymous tourney, organized periodically by members of the Argent Crusade for the bravest knights of Azeroth. The add-on features 132 new cards, introducing new weapons and spells as well as additional minions (e.g. Maiden of the Lake, Chillmaw or Frost Giant). A brand new feature, Inspiration, was added to the game mechanics; it consists in the fact that if there is a minion with this keyword on the table, a special effect will be activated each time the controlling hero uses their Hero Power. The Grand Tournament features also a new battlefield, enriched with additional objects, new card back as well as new rewards available in the Arena. Expansion can be purchased either for real money or for the game's virtual currency.

A light-hearted music game, released exclusively for PlayStation Vita. The developers responsible for Superbeat: Xonic are known for DJMax, a popular music game series, and have changed the studio name to Nurijoy in 2014. The gameplay in Superbeat: Xonic is based on pressing in the right moment the discs that move on the screen. Depending on the discs’ colors, we either hold or move some of them in the chosen direction. The creators introduced several difficulty levels, a point system which counts our combinations, and numerous bonuses rewarding player's speed or ability. We can choose from a number of gameplay modes and different songs. Superbeat: Xonic offers over fifty songs composed by Korean performers. Among them, we can find typical pop hits, as well as broadly defined electronic music, or rock. Superbeat: Xonic is full of colored lightning effects, highlighting the disco-electronic design of the game.

A multiplayer-focused PC version of the third-person perspective action game Devil’s Third which was released in summer 2015 on WiiU console. The action of the game takes place in a future world in which, due to anomalies that occurred on Earth orbit, all electronic devices malfunctioned. This severely limited the capabilities of traditional military forces. Due to that, special infantry squads became the key element of all military operations in the future. These squads consist of perfectly trained soldiers whose role the players assume. The mainstay of the gameplay in Devil’s Third Online is combat between the soldiers controlled by players. On the battlefield they use not only firearms, but melee weapons as well. This adds elements of classic hack and slash games into the title. Since it is an online game, it allows the players to develop their avatars and skills as the game progresses.
