The fifth full-fledged installment in the bestselling Tomb Raider series. Again, the player assumes the role of a comely British traveler and treasure hunter by the name of Lara Croft. Contrary to the previous installments, the plot here is based on retrospections and divided into four separate episodes. Thus the protagonist travels to Rome in search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone, tries to prevent Russian mobsters from obtaining the mythical Spear of Destiny and goes back to the times of her youth, visiting a demonic island in Ireland. In the last episode, Lara tries to take an artifact called Iris (Tomb Raider 4) from Werner von Croy, breaking into the antagonist's modern-design skyscraper. The game expands the mechanics of the previous installments and features several new ones, including mainly line walking and an ability to swing from sticks. Additionally, the game features a functional level editor.

Then, we have to help six local tribes unite against a common enemy from the west, led by an evil warlord called Tamur Leng. In the game, we lead a party of four daredevils of various races and classes. We can also recruit three additional NPCs who'll grant us extra skills. The biggest strength of this installment is a new engine, LithTech 2.5, thanks to which the action takes place in nine huge locations, while the graphics present the best quality level in the history of the franchise thus far.

Vanquish is a futuristic third-person shooter developed by the Japanese studio PlatinumGames. The game takes place in a distant future where the Earth's natural resources are running low and two main world powers are fighting for what is left of them. When the Russians attack an American space station, USA sends a special forces unit to retake it. We play as a member of that unit. In terms of mechanics, Vanquish is a dynamic and eye-catching shooter where gameplay is based on eliminating enemy forces. When facing them, our protagonist can rely on his state-of-the-art combat suit that grants him superhuman strength and speed. That allows him to carry three types of weapons, grenades, and explosives with him. The game's cover system also comes in handy. Additionally, bullet time trigger automatically when we take heavy damage.

The action is shown from a top-down perspective and the game gives complete freedom to the player in terms of exploring the city and preferred means of travel – both in order to complete the mission and to escape from the police. The protagonist gradually becomes more drastic, and the game very brutal. For this reason the game was banned in some countries.

In Painkiller and the aforementioned add-on, the player takes on the role of Daniel Garner, who faces demons sent by Lucifer himself. Once they are dealt with, the protagonist faces the lord of Hell himself, who is soon replaced by Alastor - it is easy to figure out that Daniel's next task is to slay that second demon as well. The experience is based mainly on eliminating hordes of enemies that can be dealt with using sophisticated and diverse weaponry. Painkiller: Black Edition offers high-quality visuals and atmospheric music composed specifically for the game.

Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars is set several years after the events depicted in the original game. When the ruler of Enroth, Lord Morglin Ironfist dies, a conflict over the throne breaks out between his sons. The player is given a choice, whether to fight for Roland's rebellion (he got banished from the kingdom) or stay loyal to Archibald, who considers himself the rightful heir to the throne. The gameplay formula has not changed significantly, but the creators introduced several novelties and improvements. The four hero classes from the original game were supplemented by a necromancer and a wizard, along with castles characteristic for these new classes and new creatures. Also, the second installment expands the list of skills available to heroes and introduces modifications to the system behind the use of spells. Additionally, the player is now capable of upgrading their units.

The game is focused on completing a series of story quests, which consist mainly of fighting the ghosts haunting Manhattan – from common poltergeists to powerful bosses, which you can only defeat by maintaining good cooperation between the members of your team. Every member has a unique personality and fighting style. The characters can also level up, and the game features the weapons known from the movies, including the iconic proton pack.

An oldschool shooter inspired by arcade classics. Sky Force Reloaded was produced by Polish studio Infinite Dreams, the creators of the two previous installments in the series: Sky Force from 2004 and Sky Force from 2014. In the game the player controls a fighter jet which automatically flies in one direction (towards the top of the screen). Player is tasked with shooting down incoming enemy units and avoiding being hit or crashing into obstacles. It is a good idea to collect various bonuses which provide temporary power-ups and allows you to equip the vehicle with better weapons. In addition to regular enemy aircraft the player will face powerful bosses, encounters with which will require good reflexes and dexterity. Another attraction are the optional missions, during which one must save civilians. These missions are very risky but completing them grants exceptional awards. Sky Force Reloaded offers many varied levels and colorful special effects which enrich the graphics of the game.

However, balancing of such wide arsenal had to be achieved through forsaking realism. The gameplay is similar to classic RTS games with top-down camera, but the controls and combat are distinctly arcade, and characterized by considerable simplicity. The gameplay is pushed forward by a system of buying and upgrading tanks, which can be optimized for certain situations by equipping them with engines, additional armor, and weaponry. The individual abilities of the crew also play their part.

The HD version was released on PC and 8th generation consoles. The game takes place in the fantasy world Orience, which, after a period of peace, was once again divided by war. Story focuses on twelve adepts from a magic academy who were delegated to defend the country's borders. Being a part of a greater whole (Final Fantasy XIII), Type-0 HD has all the characteristic elements of the Final Fantasy series. Combat system used in the game combines the turn-based mechanics with solutions known from many action games. The game offers a vast world, filled with interesting NPCs and side quests to do. There are twelve characters for us to play as. Each of them has a different character, combat style, and special abilities. The biggest difference between the PSP and remastered versions are the visuals, now in high definition.

Postal 2: Paradise Lost is the second official expansion for Postal 2. It was released twelve years after the base game was released, which is quite unusual, to say the least. The game takes place eleven years after the events of the first expansion, Apocalypse Weekend. Once again, we end up in Paradise City, ruled by chaos and anarchy after the nuclear attack. Our job is to bring back peace and order. To do so, we have to face the self-proclaimed separatists. We will meet many familiar faces from the previous game, not only Gary Coleman. Like in every Postal game, gameplay is filled with ridiculous humor and over-the-top brutality. Running With Scissors did not improve any technical aspects of the game and reused the old engine from Postal 2. Due to that decision, the game looks rather outdated.

The player takes the role of a small boy who witnesses the death of his closest ones during a bandit raid on his family village. Adopted by a member of the legendary Hero Guild, he trains and becomes stronger in order to have his revenge on the bandits. During the game the protagonist changes from a small, helpless boy into a true hero. In addition to the main plot, the developers also created many side quests and various additional activities that are gradually unraveled as the player progress in the game. The protagonist can act in good or bad way and his actions will impact the attitude of non-playable characters towards him.

The experience was inspired by battles fought during both World Wars. The players' goal is to take over and defend Town Halls located in different towns situated on the map. This goal cannot be achieved without tight cooperation between the comrades. Contrary to most games of this kind, weapons, ammunition and other parts of equipment do not simply appear in the soldiers' pockets - in Foxhole, almost every type of equipment has to be created and transported to a distribution point by some player. As a result, part of one's team fights the enemies, while the other serves the role of support at the same time, gathering resources, producing vehicles or equipment crates, and transporting weapons and ammunition using trucks. Additionally, the players can create automated defensive structures, such as bunkers or turrets, which can slow down the enemy's assault while one's allies are engaged in actions somewhere else.
