A science-fiction first-person perspective shooter by Splash Damage, the studio mainly famed for the expansion to Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory. The plot of Brink takes place in 2045, when the world is destroyed by a massive flood. The action is set on the deck of a floating, futuristic metropolis called the Ark – an asylum for its creators, their descendants, and tens of thousands of refugees. The overpopulation and resources shortage lead to a conflict. The future of the mankind depends on the player. Gameplay consists of fighting multi-layered battles, during which you need to reach numerous objectives and thus push the story forward. The game is designed to blur the boundaries between single and multiplayer. During the game, everyone can join you and assume the role of a soldier previously controlled by AI.

An arcade racing game, which is a new installment in the controversial Carmageddon series. The game was developed by Stainless Games with the financial support of the users of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Similarly to the first Carmageddon game from 1997, Reincarnation enables the players to participate in unusually gory races. The objective is not only to be the first at the finish line, but to cause more destruction and casualties among the pedestrians than the opponents as well. The driving model used in the game and the vehicle destruction system are both action-focused. In comparison to the previous entries in the series, the gameplay was made more varied by greatly expanding levels, filling them with secret places and unusual power-ups, and by offering a diverse list of characters and vehicles. Among the latter there are vehicles well known from previous games in the series and some completely new ones.

A refreshed version of a third-person perspective action-adventure game from 1999. The remake was prepared by Appeal – a reincarnation of the studio responsible for the original version. Outcast: Second Contact takes place in a science-fiction world, inspired by Stargate – a popular fictional universe, depicted in a number of movies and TV series. When USA sends a research probe into space, the device gets destroyed by the alien race of Talans, creating a black hole which is a direct threat to Earth. To save the world from destruction, humanity sends a group of scientists protected by a seasoned military veteran, Cutter Slade. When it comes to mechanics, the game is a mix of different genres, offering an open world and freedom of exploration, conversation, and performing tasks. Variety is definitely one of the strong points of the game: we face numerous logical puzzles, but dynamic arcade sequences are perhaps the main element of the gameplay. During those, Outcast becomes a classic third-person perspective shooter.

A several-hours long story DLC included in the Season Pass to the action game Batman: Arkham Origins released in 2013. Just like the original game, the expansion was developed by WB Games Montreal. The story of Cold, Cold Heart features Batman’s trying to stop Mr. Freeze — one of the super villains from the original comic books — whose actions threaten lives of guests at the New Year’s Eve "Humanitarian of the Year" gala. In terms of gameplay, Cold, Cold Heart copies the mechanics used in Batman: Arkham Origins, therefore we get to freely traverse open locations, solve environmental puzzles, sneak into guarded rooms, and fight powerful opponents using high-tech gadgets. A novelty introduced in the expansion is the new version of Batman’s suit that enables the hero to operate under extremely low temperatures. In order to enjoy the contents of Cold, Cold Heart you have to have the original game installed. As for the graphics, DLC uses the same technology as Batman: Arkham Origin, that is Unreal Engine 3.

Postal 2: Paradise Lost is the second official expansion for Postal 2. It was released twelve years after the base game was released, which is quite unusual, to say the least. The game takes place eleven years after the events of the first expansion, Apocalypse Weekend. Once again, we end up in Paradise City, ruled by chaos and anarchy after the nuclear attack. Our job is to bring back peace and order. To do so, we have to face the self-proclaimed separatists. We will meet many familiar faces from the previous game, not only Gary Coleman. Like in every Postal game, gameplay is filled with ridiculous humor and over-the-top brutality. Running With Scissors did not improve any technical aspects of the game and reused the old engine from Postal 2. Due to that decision, the game looks rather outdated.

Each decision must be taken with the budget and happiness in mind, and each wrong action can have bad consequences to the whole agglomeration. In addition to participating in a series of daily activities like various works, workouts, meals, walks and interactions with other prisoners, the player is also gathering seemingly useless items, looking for allies and observing his surroundings in order to find weak points of security systems. The final phase is to use the previously prepared plan and escape. The Escapist offers great freedom of acting and many ways of escaping depending on prison style (among which there is for example a military prison camp). A multiplayer-focused joke arcade game created by Boneloaf, an indie studio from the Great Britain. More precisely, this is an unusual brawler, in which character physics plays a key role. You control colorful little men whose animations are procedurally generated as you play. The gameplay focuses on melee combat, including punching, kicking, throwing your opponents off ledges or pushing them into traps. The game offers several diverse locations, where you can hurt enemies using elements of environment, such as scaffolds, or running trucks, to add to the base moveset. In the course of ten subsequent missions we face the already known Blumen corporation, entangling in intrigue with another well-known hero of the game, Tobias Frewer.

A roguelike game set in the 19th century. The Curious Expedition combines elements of adventure, strategy, and action role-playing games. We assume the role of the head of a scientific expedition that searches for legendary places such as Atlantis or El Dorado. Our party can consist of such famous 19th-century scientists as Karol Darwin, Nikola Tesla, or Marie Curie. Each of them works for their own reputation and uses a unique weapon. While playing, we move through procedurally generated maps divided into hexes. Once we reach an interesting place, the perspective switches to the view typical for classical adventure games. In our travels, we can encounter local tribes and hidden treasures guarded by traps and various enemies — from wild animals and cannibals to dinosaurs or zombies. The title puts emphasis on logistics and planning. Selecting the right equipment and skillful management of our resources are key elements to the success of every expedition. The Curious Expedition features old-school pixel-art graphics.

A medieval RTS with economic strategy elements and a sequel to Grand Ages: Rome (2009). This title is produced by a new developer, Gaming Minds Studios, who also created the fourth installment of the Patrician series and similar Rise of Venice. The game begins in the year 1050 and is set on a vast area comprised of Europe, North Africa, and Middle East. The player's main goal is to build a prosperous kingdom through the development of its infrastructure, resource accumulation, production of goods, and trade. What makes the task difficult, are various random events (earthquakes, droughts, or pestilences), as well as hostile nations. In order to protect your kingdom, you have to create a strong army, constituting a wide array of units: archers, infantry, and cavalry. When it comes to technical aspects, the game uses the 3D engine known from the studio's previous productions.
