An episodic adventure game based on the popular Fables comic book series. The Wolf Among Us was developed by Telltale Games, studio that used the same mechanics as in its previous title, The Walking Dead. The protagonists are fairy creatures that were forced to look for a safe haven in the human world where they must hide their true nature. During the game the player can encounter many characters known from the comic books – including the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White or Ichabod Crane. The gameplay is focused mostly on visiting locations, conversing with NPCs, solving riddles and making hard decisions. The Wolf Among Us employs comic book-like visuals and, as usual, cel-shading.

A noir detective action adventure game developed by the Australian studio Team Bondi in cooperation with the veterans from Rockstar Games. The game invites you into Los Angeles of the 1940’s, a city filled with corruption and drug dealing organizations. You assume the role of Cole Phelps, an ex-soldier who becomes a police officer after the war. The game lets you experience the key moments of Cole’s career, starting from the traffic police all the way through murder and drugs department. Gameplay is mainly about examining crime scenes in search of clues and evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects. The game also offers multiple action sequences, including pursuits (either on foot or by car), fist fights, and spectacular shootouts. When it comes to graphics, the most noteworthy feature are the realistic face expressions that allow you to judge the reactions of interogatees. The game overflows with a noir atmosphere characteristic of the 1940’ and 50’ movies.

An action-adventure game developed by RSK Entertainment, based on authentic events from Iran’s history. The plot of Dark Years takes us to 1950s, where, as a result of a secret pact between Great Britain and USA, a democratically chosen government led by Mohammad Mosaddegh is overthrown, resulting in a serious political crisis as well as destabilization and violence among local communities. The game intertwines the fates of two people: Major Afshar, who is ordered to reveal the mystery behind a series of murders that shocked Tehran, and an Iranian journalist based in London, who falls onto a trail of a conspiracy aimed at his country. When it comes to mechanics, the title is a third-person perspective adventure game with action elements, focusing mainly on exploration and puzzle solving; however,a huge emphasis was placed on conversations with encountered characters. Aside from that, the game contains numerous arcade sections, including spectacular shootouts and car chases.

A remake of a legendary adventure game from Lucas Arts, known as one of the best and most original point-and-click adventure games. The new edition was developed by Double Fine Production, a studio led by Tim Schafer, the co-author of the original title. The action of the game takes place in a unique version of the afterlife, inspired by noir movies and Mexican folklore. The player assumes control of Manny, a recently deceased who takes over the honorable position of a travel agent with the Department of Death. Dissatisfied with the fact that some of the dead have to embark on a four-year journey to reach the afterlife, our hero receives a lead that turns him onto a huge bribery scandal. Manny has to follow the other souls and reach the afterlife on foot in order to uncover the mystery. Visually, the game maintains the atmosphere and the characteristic animation style seen in the original game.

A tech-noir tactical action game with a spy thriller setting. All Walls Must Fall is set in 2089, in an alternative reality in which the Berlin Wall never fell and the Cold War still lasts. To make things worse, the rivalry between the East and the West has resulted in a nuclear disaster. You play as a group of intelligence agents, who travel back in time and get one night to prevent the catastrophe from happening. The decisions you make during the game can have a great effect on the world's future. The gameplay in All Walls Must Fall is shown in an isometric view. The game takes place in procedurally generated locations — mostly in Berlin nightclubs, which allows you to hide in the crowd — and your main tasks are exploration and gathering important information from NPCs. The game also features a tactical combat mode with an active pause option. An important element of the game is turning back time, which helps you to avoid the consequences of your oversights. The visuals have been inspired by communist propaganda posters.

Our main enemy are the dark and mysterious creatures that dwell in it, forcing us to solve many puzzles based on light and dark mechanics. Using various sources of light somewhat resembles Alan Wake, with plot and storytelling inspired by works of people like Alfred Hitchcock, David Lynch and Roman Polanski. BRUCE: The Game is a cyberpunk/noir platform game and the debut of the Polish studio Tabasco Interactive. BRUCE: The Game rather clearly refers to the classics like Ridley Scott's cult movie Blade Runner or Frank Miller's comic book series Sin City. The game takes place in a rainy, futuristic world, where Bruce, our protagonist, does many various quests and faces enemies. We observe the action from the classic side-scrolling perspective. Bruce uses all kinds of weapons and special abilities during our adventures, including bullet time, known from the Max Payne series. Gameplay focuses on dynamic and spectacular action and, at the same time, presents a mature, entertaining story with interesting NPCs. The game has hand drawn, noir-inspired visuals.
