The fourth installment in the best-selling life simulation series – The Sims. The Sims 4 was developed by Maxis Studios, also known for SimCity and Spore. The player, once again, controls the lifes of a virtual family. Character editor lets you set not only alter the physical appearance of each Sim, but also define their personality, character, and goals. Your main task is to provide for the needs of your Sims – starting with a place to sleep and regular meals and including their intellectual development as well as professional career. As compared to previous games in the franchise, The Sims 4 offers much more developed social options, letting you interact with other players (e.g. share houses and throw parties together).

This is the first game developed by Panache Digital Games, a studio led by Patrice Désilets who previously worked for Ubisoft and THQ. He co-created the first three Assassin's Creed games and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey takes the players through events that shaped mankind, such as creation of the first tools, agricultural revolution, the fall of the Roman empire, Wright brothers' first powered flight, landing on the Moon, or discovery of the human DNA. All of those events are presented in episodes.

A unique investing and building construction simulation game by Empyrean. You play as a businessman, who buys housings in need of renovation. As such property often features many nasty surprises, you have to refurbish, clean and furnish the flat, so that you can sell it for profit. This involves tearing down unnecessary walls, getting rid of any pests or fixing damaged wiring. In House Flipper you use various tools, including an irreplaceable hammer. Furnishing the housing involves buying furniture and decorations, which you then have to put in proper places.
War Thunder (PS4)

A free-to-play MMO flight simulator. It was developed by Gajin Entertainment, a Russian studio which previously created such titles as Wings of Prey, Birds of Steel, and Apache: Air Assault. The players assume the role of fighter pilots and can pilot hundreds of carefully recreated World War II aircrafts. The developers made sure that battlefield reality is faithfully reflected not only in the air, but also on the land (artillery, infantry) and at sea (navy). Progress allows us to upgrade our planes, buy new kinds of weapons as well as learn new piloting skills. War Thunder stands out from its competitors thanks to its high-quality visuals and realistic flight physics.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 (PS4)

The third installment of a unique simulation series that begun in 2014, developed by Polish studio PlayWay. The player assumes the role of a car mechanic who attempts to promote themselves with a number of high-profile jobs. Our task is simple – find the issue, remove the individual parts to get access to the faulty part and finally replace it with a brand new element. The title is characteristic for its detailed, simulation-like gameplay. The authors introduced various helpful features, such as highlights for individual elements. Moreover, each vehicle can be taken for a test drive and repainted. The game is characteristic for its decent visuals, with faithfully-recreated models of over forty vehicles and an impressively detailed workshop.
Spintires: MudRunner (PS4)

An advanced off-road truck simulator – Spintires: MadRunner is an enhanced version of Spintires. The game has been published by Focus Home Interactive and allows the player to drive various vehicles designed for extreme road conditions. Throughout the game, one can modify the available machines (the MadRunner edition features 13 new vehicles) and install new parts. The game delivers several large open maps located across Siberia, waiting for the player to explore. Moreover, one can complete numerous assignments (e.g. loading and transporting a timber to a specified destination within a predefined time limit) either on his own or via the online cooperative mode with up to three other players. The difficulty of these assignments lies in the fact that the terrain one has to traverse is subjected to real-time deformations – one’s vehicle can easily get stuck in the mud or fall off a cliff. In such case, a player has to use the automatic hoisting winch.

Farming Simulator 17 is another installment in the series of simulators of farm. This time, the game was published by Focus Home Interactive, but the development was still carried out by GIANTS Software, known from the previous parts of this series. The mechanics remain unchanged - the players become farmers, who need to take good care of their establishment. During the game, much attention has to be paid to the economic side of the management - the right equipment needs to be purchased, used for sawing, gathering crops, and moving the goods around. Traditionally, the player can control many different machines, all with official licenses from real manufacturers, and personally take care of various tasks in the field. The new installment obviously introduces some changes and novelties. Contrary to previous games, Farming Simulator 17 was released on PC, XONE and PS4 simultaneously.
Farmer's Dynasty (PS4)

An advanced farm simulator with RPG and life simulator features. The title was developed by Toplitz Productions. The player assumes the role of a rookie farmer who inherited a farm after his deceased grandparent. Protagonist’s task is to lead the ruined farm to prosperity and to earn enough money to modernize it. Farmer’s Dynasty features a vast open world that can be freely roamed (on foot and by using various vehicles; in addition to the inherited tractor the player can use more modern and advanced vehicles). The main pillar of the game are tasks that push the story forward. Among them there are objectives unrelated to farming – sometimes player must also repair some tools or modernize a specific building. The player’s duties also include breeding animals, selling surpluses of the crops. Later in the game the player can create a family and raise offspring.
Pure Farming 2018 (PS4)

An advanced farming simulator developed by Techland in cooperation with the independent studio Ice Flames. Similarly as in other games in the genre, in Pure Farming 18 the player assumes the role of a farmer who must maintain his farm. The task requires him to perform various field activities like planting and watering seeds, gathering crops and selling them. Funds obtained in that way can be used for improving the farm and buying new vehicles and farming machines. The game offers many innovative solutions and mechanics that were previously unavailable in other games in the genre.
Elite: Dangerous (PS4)

The fourth installment in the Elite series. The game is a space simulator created again by David Braben and the Frontier studio. Elite: Dangerous is set in the far future; after humanity had colonized countless star systems, the Universe is dominated by three superpowers: the Empire, the Federation, and the Alliance. Brave pilots seek easy money working beyond the territories controlled by these entities. The open-world game structure offers the players large amounts of freedom when it comes to exploration, trading or completing military assignments. Instead of the classic division into the solo and multiplayer modes, the creators of Elite: Dangerous allow the player to join their friends or return to single-player experience at any time.
Alaskan Truck Simulator (PS4)
An unusual production, combining a truck driving simulator with a survival game. Alaskan Truck Simulator has the official Discovery Channel license. The game was developed by the Polish studio Movie Games, and PlayWay is responsible for its release.
SnowRunner: A MudRunner Game (PS4)
Continuation of an advanced simulator of heavy off-road vehicles from Saber Interactive studio. MudRunner 2 develops the ideas of its predecessor, again focusing on working with heavy equipment in extreme conditions.

An action MMO game featuring modern-day tank battles. The game was produced by the experienced studio Obsidian Entertainment, known for such titles as Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, or Dungeon Siege III. The game features a wide spectrum of modern tanks and armored vehicles used by numerous military forces of the world. Although the game features online gameplay only, there are many different play modes, allowing anyone to find something for themselves. Armored Warfare lets players not only compete in a PvP mode, but also join forces in cooperative campaigns. Among the available missions there some designed with lone wolves in mind, as well as some that require good cooperation. The games highly realistic visuals are powered by the latest generation of CryEngine.
303 Squadron: Battle of Britain (PS4)
A flight simulator set in the World War II period; the game was developed by Atomic Jelly and published by Movie Games. The story focuses on the titular 303 Squadron - a Polish combat unit formed in Great Britain. No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron played a key part in the Battle of Britain. The player is given an opportunity to get acquainted with the stories irs pilots, mechanics, and other people who worked at the squadron's main base in Northolt, as well as to take part in authentic battles from the period, recreated in the game on the basis of historical evidence. Mechanics-wise, the creators emphasize quick and dynamic air battles, which situates the game somewhere between a simulation and an arcade experience. Between the subsequent missions, the player visits the aforementioned base, which can be freely explored. One can also fix their plane here and install various modifications. Additionally, the game features a lot of side assignments - those take the player to other military theaters.

Developed by an indie developer David O’Reilly, Everything generates worlds, which you can watch from any perspective you like. Each universe can be observed in both micro and macro scale. You start playing in a particular place of a procedurally generated world, but the rest is completely up to you – you are free to take control of a single atom, animal, or object, and focus on its immediate whereabouts, or control an entire planet, star or even galaxy. The gameplay has no specific goal – what you do and why you do it is your choice. As you jump between different elements of the universe you create its encyclopedia – objects that you discover are catalogued, after which you can view them in a special menu. All that is complemented by decent graphics and atmospheric soundtrack as well as lectures of the philosopher Alan Watts. Interestingly, Everything is the first video game in history nominated for Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film thanks to its several-minute trailer – that film had also won jury’s award at Vienna Shorts Festival.

The sixth major installment in the popular farming simulation game series. The franchise makes a comeback to key gaming platforms after a year off, when only smartphone and portable editions were released. The developer, GIANTS Software, prepared another portion of innovations to enhance gameplay. The game lets you play in a new environment (Scandinavian), characterized by different landscape, weather conditions, and vast forests. This time players can cut down trees using specially designed, licensed machines. There is also a car wash, allowing you to keep your vehicles clean. Overall, the gameplay mechanics remained unchanged; as usual, your task is to manage a farm and expand it using the money earned from breeding animals and cultivating land. The sixth installment introduced the series to the eight generation consoles, bringing about significant visual improvements.
World of Tanks: Mercenaries (PS4)

A massively popular MMO game, created and administered by Russian developer Wargaming.net. World of Tanks lets players control tanks and take part in exciting battles against living opponents. The game offers over 150 carefully recreated models of tanks and other armored vehicles (including self-propelled guns and tank destroyers) used in armies of several countries since the 1930’s till the Korean War (1950-1953). The gameplay in World of Tanks combines elements of simulation, action shooter, strategy, and social features that let players join clans and communicate with others. The game is based on a free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions.

Chernobyl VR Project is an extraordinary exploration game, which utilizes virtual reality to take the players into the ruins of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, as well as the city of Pripyat. Chernobyl VR Project has been developed by The Farm 51 – the studio known for such games as Get Even, Deadfall Adventures, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation or the NecroVision series. This is an interactive story of the fate that befell the citizens of the city, and areas around the power plant, most severely affected with the disaster. Instead of fighting mutants, the player roams the desolate locations and examines encountered items, left behind by the inhabitants in 1986. Thanks to Virtual Reality technology, as well as other modern techniques, such as 3D scanning, Chernobyl VR Project offers extremely pretty graphics and moving experiences – especially since the developers have based their game on the account of eye-witnesses of the terrible event, as well as journalists (including the Nobel Prize laureate – Svetlana Alexievich) in order to produce a game as faithful to history as virtually possible.

A prisoner simulator that combines features of many genres. It was developed by Mouldy Toof in cooperation with Team 17 Software. The player assumes the role of a prisoner who leads a “normal” life in one of several available penitentiary facilities. The main objective of the game is to plan a way of escaping from the prison. In addition to participating in a series of daily activities like various works, workouts, meals, walks and interactions with other prisoners, the player is also gathering seemingly useless items, looking for allies and observing his surroundings in order to find weak points of security systems. The final phase is to use the previously prepared plan and escape. The Escapist offers great freedom of acting and many ways of escaping depending on prison style (among which there is for example a military prison camp). The game offers retro pixel-art two-dimensional graphics presented from a top-down perspective.
